Dublin-based Cubic Telecom is to expand its operations in Japan and Asia Pacific with Lenovo, the world’s largest PC vendor. This will enable Cubic Telecom to extend its unique global connectivity solution to its partners in Japan and the Asia Pacific region. The agreement between Cubic Telecom and Lenovo was announced during an Irish Government Trade and Investment Mission to Japan led by An Taoiseach, Mr. Enda Kenny T.D.

Welcoming the announcement during a meeting in Tokyo involving Cubic Telecom and senior executives from Lenovo, Taoiseach Enda Kenny said:
“Japan is an important growth market for Ireland as we promote Irish companies that have a global reputation for excellence and quality.  Cubic Telecom is a great example of a highly innovative, export-focused, Irish company with a world-class product offering in the mobile communications industry.  Cubic Telecom’s strategic collaboration with Lenovo is a testament to the quality of their product and underlines Cubic Telecom’s continued success in global markets.”

Rod Lappin, President of Lenovo Group and President of NEC Lenovo Japan Group, stated: “in addition to being the fastest growing PC company in the world, Lenovo provides a full range of smart connected devices spanning Notebooks, Smartphones, Tablets and Smart TVs.  Cubic Telecom is working with Lenovo to support the deployment of this rapidly expanding range of connected devices in Japan and Asia Pacific.”
Speaking from Tokyo, Barry Napier, Cubic Telecom CEO, stated:  “Cubic Telecom is very pleased to be working with Rod's team to support the expansion of Lenovo devices with a unique embedded connectivity solution in Japanese and Asia Pacific markets. We are also very grateful for the support we have received from Enterprise Ireland as we expand our international operations in Japan and the Asia Pacific Region. The Cubic Telecom team is learning from the very demanding Japanese standards for superior quality of service to help develop a great foundation for our global solution. We have gained a lot of learnings from our Japanese partners who are renowned globally for their superior levels of service.”
