Malmesbury, UK - November 8th 2011, Digital printer, CPC is providing an end-to-end printing, stockholding and order fulfilment solution for Sound Foundations, a specialist publisher of remedial reading and spelling programmes. CPC now handle email and telephone orders, stockholding and fulfilment for this innovative publisher.
Sound Foundations, started in 2006 by Hilary Burkard, is a leader in the development of literacy products based on ‘synthetic phonics’, now acknowledged by the Department for Education in England to be the best method for teaching reading. Sound Foundations products are unique both in concept and delivery. The books are used by teachers and teaching assistants in schools but are also aimed at parents who may themselves be poor at reading and spelling. The products are self-contained and require no planning or record keeping, making them ideal for all learners, especially those with learning difficulties or dyslexia. In 2009, trials conducted by Southampton and Gloucestershire local authorities proved that they are an extremely effective and cost-efficient means of eliminating reading failure.
Sound Foundations consists of 15 titles sold individually and in packs. CPC have printed the titles for a number of years but as orders increased it became more and more difficult for the company to focus on continued product development and promotion. Under new arrangements phone calls are now forwarded direct to CPC who now manage the UK stock holding and fulfilment. Any orders received by email are also forwarded to CPC.
“CPC is taking on what many small businesses find difficult, customer orders, stock management and fulfilment. Where we can, we step in and help our customers to make their businesses run more smoothly. It says a lot when our customers trust us to go beyond manufacture, manage stock, take orders and fulfil on their behalf. In this case Sound Foundations are a small but innovative supplier of specialist educational products. They throw their hearts and souls into their products and we help where we can to provide them and their customers with an excellent service,” said Kevin Assinder, Managing Director of CPC.
