Cambridge based Controllis has expanded its footprint into the South American market with the appointment of Lima based CIME Comercial SA as its authorised distributor. Controllis manufactures a range of products that provide efficient DC power, remote control, and secure communications for the telecoms, defence and resources sectors. The products are focused on reducing operation costs through lower fuel consumption, reduced site visits and improved security. CIME is a well established and respected distributor and engineering company in the Peru telecoms and mining markets. The company provides DC power products, solar power installations and communications infrastructure for a wide range of customers in the region.

“We chose CIME because of the high calibre of their engineering staff and the good fit between their current activities and our product line” said Controllis CEO Simon Albury. “We have already started shipping equipment into Peru and we are due to start deployments of our Telgenco range of DC generators in-country very shortly. In addition to this, we are jointly planning a number of control systems projects. It is a pleasure to be working with such a highly skilled and experienced team.”, he added.

Founded in1991 CIME has established itself as Peru's leading importer and engineering company for the provision of DC power systems to telecoms companies. The company provides a full service including local manufacturing, engineering design, installation, commissioning and maintenance. “We are pleased to represent Controllis in Peru” said CIME General Manager Vicente López. “Their products fit in very well with our current offerings and the combination will enable us to offer telecom operators and mining companies real reductions in their operating costs.”

Controllis was founded in 2008 and launched its first products at the beginning of 2012. “With the appointment of CIME we are now operating in 5 Continents.” said Mr Albury. “Operators are starting to see the real benefits of our DC power generators in terms of simplicity, reliability and lower costs.” “With several upcoming network expansions, a fast market growth rate and a good business environment Peru makes an excellent place to start our South American activities.”
