London – 5 October 2010 - ControlCircle, the leading datacentre and managed services provider, today announced the company has been ranked in The Sunday Times Microsoft Tech Track 100 for the second successive year. ControlCircle ranked 50 in this year’s list, growing its sales 53% a year from £2.6m in 2006 to £9.1m in 2009.
Founded in 2001 by Chief Executive Damian Milkins and Chief Financial Officer Simon Hancock, ControlCircle designs, implements and manages complex IT infrastructure that supports customers such as Betfair, KPMG and Rightmove. The company has access to 94 data centres worldwide and owns an ethernet network in London to provide high-speed internet connections. In February it secured £6m of growth capital from Scottish Equity Partners.
Commenting, Damian Milkins CEO of ControlCircle said: “Being recognised for the second consecutive year in the prestigious Sunday Times Microsoft Tech Track 100 is testament to the great team we have here. In 2010 we have achieved a number of milestones including backing from Scottish Equity Partners, the ISO 27001 accreditation of our UK facilities and the expansion of our global footprint in Chicago.”
This year’s Tech Track 100 was notable for a sharp rise in the number of companies that provided outsourced computer services, including cloud computing and managed hosting. 16 firms cited this as their primary activity, with a further five offering these services alongside other products and solutions.
Milkins continued: “The emergence of numerous UK companies involved in cloud services mirrors the growing appetite for critical on-demand computing infrastructure that our clients are looking for. We expect 2011 to be a landmark year and plan to continue delivering innovations and service excellence in the industry.”
The Tech Track 100 league table ranks Britain’s top one hundred privately-owned technology, media and telecoms (TMT) companies with the fastest-growing sales over the last three years of available accounts. Over the past decade the Tech Track 100 has featured well-known brands, innovative ideas and stock market stars of the future.
