Prestigious new chairman demonstrates growing status in market
22 March 2010 – Marking a further milestone during a period of high activity and sustained growth, Microlease, the No 1 test and measurement rental business in Europe, today announced that Paul Manduca has been appointed as the company’s new chairman.
Paul Manduca comes to Microlease with a rich wealth of business and financial experience gained in roles where his vision and team-building capability have been key to his success. He currently holds external directorships with a wide range of companies, including Aon UK and Wm Morrison Supermarkets plc. At Wm Morrison Paul played an important role as Senior Independent Director during its return to records profits following the takeover of Safeway.

At the same time Microlease has also announced a further senior appointment; Phil Symms becomes Authorised Technology Partner (ATP) sales manager for UK/Ireland. He joins Microlease after ten years with Agilent Technologies, where he held a variety of managerial roles. Latterly, he was EMEA manager for the Applications Engineering Organisation- Electronic Measurement Group, achieving strong sales success in the role. Before this he held a string of pan-European technical and sales roles at Hewlett Packard.
These latest appointments are in line with Microlease’s ambitious three-year strategy of organic growth and acquisition and demonstrate the gathering momentum of the past twelve months. This period has seen Microlease’s purchase of the European operations of its main US competitor plus a tactical partnership agreement with Agilent Technologies, making it an ATP for UK, Ireland and Italy.
