Jessica Greenwood, Director of Contagious Magazine, will examine the need to stay ahead of consumer trends and in touch with your brand in order to succeed in the new marketing landscape, at the next IPA 44 Club on Monday 14th March.
During her presentation Greenwood will discuss the innovative use of new platforms, including PR 2.0, underline the importance of experimentation, and look ahead to how the events over the next 12 months might affect advertising.
Says Greenwood: "The ‘Mad Men' era of advertising was defined by human insight. In the last few years of multi-platform experimentation, the need for insight prior to execution has been lost. Now, we're on Facebook because it exists, Twitter because we can, and mobile because we know we should. As a result of the compulsion towards insight first, advertising second has been lost."
This event takes place from 6pm-7.45pm on Monday 14th March at the IPA, 44 Belgrave Square, London, SW1X 8QS. Tickets cost £20 + VAT for IPA members, £40 + VAT for non-members and can be booked at:

Contagious was launched in 2004, since becoming a leader in identifying and analysing the latest digital, technology and media trends affecting today's marketing landscape.
The Institute of Practitioners in Advertising (IPA) is the trade body and professional institute for UK advertising, media and marketing communications agencies. It was established in 1917 as a servicing body and to negotiate on behalf of its members with media bodies, government departments and unions. Its 247 corporate members handle over 80% of the UK's advertising agency business which has an estimated value (excluding press and TV production) of £17.7 billion.
The IPA 44 Club organises events and talks for people in the advertising industry who might not be players yet, but one day want to be. The talks aim to inform, inspire and expose people to things that they may not see in their everyday agency lives or through normal training. It offers access to high profile and influential people and thought-provoking topics through a series of fun and informative monthly events across the year. A committee made up of 12 people meet each month to discuss ideas and plan the events. They include:
Richard Lloyd, Account Director, Lean Mean Fighting Machine - 44 Club Chairman
Lizzie Dewhurst, PR & Events Manager, TBWA\London - Deputy Chairman
