Relationship Provides Chinese Retailers with a Robust Global Payment Platform for Business Beyond Borders; Also Offers Non-Chinese Merchants Further Options for Entering the Chinese Market
New York and Shanghai – June 3, 2013 – Computop, a leading payment service provider (PSP), and MasaPay Information Technology Company, Ltd (MasaPay), a third party transnational e-payment service provider, today announced a strategic cooperation agreement. Computop will white label its Paygate platform to MasaPay to offer Chinese merchants a global payment solution, including local payment methods, strong fraud prevention tools and currency conversion, that helps to support their efforts as they expand into new markets. With this cooperation, Computop will also further expand its businesses in the Chinese market.
Computop and MasaPay will make it easy for online retailers in China to sell their products and collect payments from customers in different geographies. In addition, this agreement helps to bridge the gap for companies that want to venture into the huge and fast growing Chinese market, with both MasaPay’s and Computop’s presence in the country.
“Chinese merchants do not have much choice in transnational e-commerce payments, so we devote ourselves to providing diversified and global payment solutions to make business more convenient while optimizing the user experience,” said Mr. Chen Guosheng, founder of MasaPay. “We are pleased to be a strategic partner with Computop which will help us to globalize our payment methods, and we will also help our partner to further penetrate the Chinese market by leveraging our advantage in China. We are making this a win-win cooperation, and we believe that our cooperation will be successful.”
“MasaPay and Computop share the same global ambition: to help merchants conduct business around the world by providing global financial services that leverage local knowledge and an extensive network of local partners in many industries and continents. Together, we can bridge the gap of different currencies, different legislations and different consumer behaviors worldwide,” said Ralf Gladis, CEO of Computop. “We are excited to bring the strength of our platform and our 16 years of experience in secure international payment processing to MasaPay’s Chinese merchant customers, and we are happy to have a partner like MasaPay that adds great value to our Chinese and cross-border solutions.”
