Amersham, July 1, 2010 – Compellent (NYSE:CML) has expanded the scope of its international technical training capabilities with the appointment of UK-based Peter Coleman to lead its EMEA training organisation as International Technical Trainer. Coleman reports to Neil Stobart, International Technical Director at Compellent.

Coleman is responsible for training Compellent’s European business partners and customers on the company’s Fluid Data storage solutions. Compellent’s Storage Center automates the movement and management of data at a granular level, enabling organisations to adapt to change, slash costs and secure information against downtime and disaster.

With more than 25 years’ experience spanning a wide variety of technologies, Coleman has held a variety of senior technical training, management and engineering positions at Infinity I/O Ltd, Cisco Systems and British Telecom International.

Coleman also helped to develop the Storage Networking Industry Association (SNIA) hands-on labs – a multi-vendor education programme to promote new storage technologies. He has been teaching SNIA sessions at Storage Networking World (SNW) for more than seven years, and was responsible for bringing them to SNW Europe in 2005. Furthermore, Coleman was involved in developing exams and teaching courses for the SNIA certification programme.

His appointment follows continued significant growth by Compellent. The company has channel partners in more than 30 countries and was recently recognised for the third consecutive year as the fastest growing block-based, external storage company in the world by analyst firm Gartner.
