- Trend towards building dedicated, external business development functions results in Clarify success
- Company continues recruitment drive with a 50 per cent increase in staff to support growth
Clarify, specialist in business development for the enterprise technology industry, has just closed a significant year, adding 40 per cent revenues and growing its team by 50 per cent.
Adding nine significant technology blue chip enterprise brands over just the last six months, the company has seen a significant trend towards sales and marketing teams seeking a third party to assist their business development programmes. Under pressure from increasingly short-term targets, Clarify’s role has become more about longer term planning and target account nurturing and acquisition achievement.
The Theale-based operation, headed by CEO Claire Edmunds, has been retained by companies including one of the world’s largest mobile and landline telecommunication providers and a global computer security software corporation for a period of years. Last year also saw two key technology vendors expand their sales operational support with Clarify across up to six European countries, in order to market higher value propositions. One influential vendor extended its enterprise sales programme further to cover Africa as well as Europe, APAC and the US, as well as instigating programmes for vertical teams.
“Across the year we started pilot programmes with some fabulous new customers, including some of the world’s largest professional services and technology hardware and software vendors. Finding good sales people and keeping them is one of many benefits of the outsourced consultancy model, as well having an external strategic view of how to long term manage a pipeline,” said Claire Edmunds, CEO at Clarify.
“Our headcount grew by 15 people in the last quarter alone, which led to us hiring our own head of recruitment. With a new management and marketing structure in place, the next year will be tremendously exciting for us,” Claire added.
Clarify also launched its Business Development Academy last year, part of its Strategic Advisory Service, providing consultancy and training services to maximise internal sales team success in demand generation.
Clarify is continuing to recruit experienced business development individuals. View its vacancies page for further details.
