IP EXPO 2011
Roger Black MBE – an Olympic silver and bronze medallist, Team GB 2012 Ambassador, and motivational TV presenter – will join Neil Crockett, Managing Director, Cisco London 2012, on Day One of IP EXPO, Wednesday 19th October, in their opening keynote, “Being at the heart of the London 2012 Olympic Games”.
They will explain how technology is at the heart of the staging of the London 2012 Olympic Games, from commercial broadcasters to the athletes themselves – not to mention the billions of home viewers who will want to generate and share their Olympic experiences.
Hugh Keeble, co-founder and director of Imago Techmedia, the IP EXPO event organiser, said, “The Olympic Games present a prime example of the significance of information technology to international commerce and culture. Roger Black will outline the role of technology from an athlete’s perspective, and Neil Crockett will discuss the legacy of the Olympic Games and how the UK can build a brilliant future for technological innovation after the Games.”
As the Official Network Infrastructure Provider for the Games, Cisco is at the heart of London 2012. Cisco’s Borderless Network architecture will connect nearly 100 locations, including 36 competition venues and 20 further venues such as the Olympic Village and operations centre. By 27 July 2012, under the scrutiny of the world, all of this work needs to be perfect.
