London, 19 July 2010 – ChangeBASE AOK Limited, the global leader in automated application compatibility testing and remediation, today announces a Windows 7 Proof of Concept service for large organisations.

The free service, available to all enterprises with more than 2,500 users, enables IT Managers planning their migration to Windows 7 to have 50 Microsoft Installer applications from their portfolio tested for possible compatibility issues. If any applications are flagged as having potential compatibility problems, up to five can then be selected for automatic fixing by AOK to ensure their readiness for migration to the new OS. The service will be available free of charge until the 30th September 2010.

The AOK application compatibility testing and remediation process can help businesses make accurate and informed decisions when preparing to migrate to Windows 7. The detailed testing and reporting makes it easy to identify which applications are ready for migration - as well as determining where migration challenges may lay by highlighting those applications that will need to be fixed. The accuracy and speed of AOK in testing and fixing compatibility issues can save organisations hundreds of thousands of pounds in manual testing costs.

“The move to Windows 7 is the first major IT migration for many businesses since XP,” says John Tate, Managing Director, ChangeBASE AOK. “With over 60% of global IT Directors claiming application compatibility as the primary challenge of any OS migration, the ability to address this issue in an accurate, quick and cost effective manner is critical for any organisation. The Windows 7 Proof of Concept service can assess and report application compatibility issues and, uniquely, fix the majority of problems found automatically in just minutes – a job that could take hundreds on man-hours if attempted manually. We are delighted to be offering large organisations across the globe support with their migration to Windows 7, helping to simplify the process for IT managers and enabling users to fully appreciate the benefits that Windows 7 has to offer as quickly and efficiently as possible. ”

To take advantage of the free Windows 7 application compatibility service, organisations simply need contact [email protected] and they will be contacted directly to discuss the next steps.
