New product provides full integration with Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager 2012 SP1

SCCM Management Pack for WorkSpace iQ enables power of complete usage analytics and self-service empowerment in System Center

Newbury, UK – April 8, 2013: Centrix Software, a leading provider of workspace computing solutions, today announced a new product, SCCM Management Pack for WorkSpace iQ™, which enhances Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager 2012 and 2012 SP1 with the immense power and depth of usage analytics from Centrix Software’s WorkSpace iQ™. Detailed usage analytics for all applications and devices are now available directly in ConfigMgr, including software not currently under ConfigMgr management. The product is in early adoption phase currently with general availability in June 2013.

With this integration, customers can optimize the allocation of software licenses by tracking, managing and removing software costs where there is no direct usage of software by employees. In addition, SCCM Management Pack for WorkSpace iQ also helps to accelerate application and desktop migration projects. It now provides more in-depth management information and business case data on application requirements, based on actual technology consumption patterns.

Key features of SCCM Management Pack for WorkSpace iQ include:

Integration with Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager 2012 and 2012 SP1

Complete visibility of the usage of every application and device by every user directly within SCCM

Visibility of the entire application portfolio within ConfigMgr, including applications not currently under the management of ConfigMgr

Easy ability to re-deploy key applications through Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager 2012 and 2012 SP1, ensuring they are fully managed

Identification within ConfigMgr of software never used and configurable identification of software rarely used

Easy to use capabilities to trigger and monitor software removal

Self-service access for users to provision and de-provision software

Ability for users to manage operating system migrations through a self-service interface

Paul Burke, VP of Product Management at Centrix Software commented, “There is a huge amount of change taking place around corporate desktop computing: from the growth of new devices entering the workplace through to strategic platform upgrades being driven by the end-of-life deadline for Microsoft Windows XP. Organizations of all sizes have fundamental challenges to overcome when effecting successful application and desktop transformation, chiefly because traditional desktop management methods are not designed for the world of on-demand application delivery, which we are moving to. We see a shift taking place from static application management techniques to a greater focus on the analysis of usage data. This not only represents a more agile way to provide users with the tools that they need to be productive, but also encompasses significant opportunities to reduce cost and remove inefficiencies when it comes to IT delivery.”

“Centrix Software delivers significant value to our System Center 2012 Configuration Manager customers by providing deeper insight across their end-user computing estates and user base,” said Chris Lwanga, System Center Alliance Director at Microsoft. “The analysis captured by SCCM Management Pack for WorkSpace iQ enables desktop and application teams to make faster, more informed decisions about technology change and best approaches to application delivery. As a result, organizations can reduce the cost and increase the business value of their IT operations as they embrace new technologies and ways of working.”
