Vienna, VA – May 1, 2014: Cellcrypt, a leading provider of encrypted voice and messaging for smartphones and tablets, today announced that its Cellcrypt Mobile for Secret™ product has officially been listed as certified by the National Information Assurance Partnership (NIAP). As part of the Common Criteria evaluation, Cellcrypt selected Cygnacom Solutions, Inc. to perform the validation testing services that were reported to NIAP.

Cellcrypt Mobile for Secret is a downloadable software application, which runs on commercially available Android™ smartphones securing communications using US military / government-grade security. This release is the first secure VoIP solution to undergo and complete evaluation against the new NIAP Mobility Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) Protection Profile.

Cellcrypt Mobile for Secret provides an easy-to-use, standards-based encrypted VoIP application which communicates using SIP, SDES and SRTP. It supports a wide range of standard codecs, and (in addition to the evaluated functionality) it can also use Near Field Communication (NFC) technology to provide enhanced user authentication. Because Cellcrypt Mobile™ can be rapidly deployed, and may be managed by any of the popular Mobile Device Management systems, organizations and agencies can deploy their own secure mobile voice solution running on commercial smartphones in record time.

NIAP is a joint partnership established by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), and the National Security Agency (NSA) to evaluate COTS security and security-enabled IT product conformance to international standards designed to satisfy the security testing needs of both information technology consumers and producers. The NIAP Protection Profiles were created for technologies of high priority for U.S. Government customers.
