The show at the RAI in Amsterdam last month attracted over 5,500 global industry professionals interested in the latest optical communications technology and solutions as well as first time Market Focus presentations from Vodafone, Neophotonics and OpSIS. The Market Focus has successfully developed over the past seven years to become a focal point of the show, which is the largest of its kind in Europe.
As well as the new technological developments and The Market Focus also welcomed returning presentations from Google, FTTH Council and Oclaro. And specialist analyst’s presentations from Daryl Inniss, of Ovum and Brad Smith, of Lightcounting LLC, were welcomed once again.
Beverley Lucas, Group Event Manager for NBM, organisers of the ECOC Exhibition said the Market Focus has become a popular platform to gain industry knowledge and insight in the latest technologies accessible.
“With over 325 exhibitors this year and an even larger FTTx Centre and the return of the CTTS training zone, we are seeing a continual growth in popularity and all have become unique features to the exhibition, which adds to the success of the show. And we are extremely pleased at the growing attendance and number of leading names we attract year on year.
As the need for more bandwidth continues the key highlight from this year’s exhibition included the latest products that are starting to be developed to address 100G capability, with industry discussions now moving towards 400G systems and beyond.
This year ECOC attracted attendance from an international audience with over 83 percent of attendees arriving from the non-host country, including Japan, India, Russia and USA.
The FTTx Centre, which attracted over 440 visitors over the three days, could be found in the centre of the exhibition, this year, with an impressive eleven zones supported by the major vendors across the globe featuring FTTx products and live interactive demonstrations of OSP and ISP systems and deployment methods. CTTS also ran a series of demonstrations into the developments and deployment of Fibre to the x networks and Fibre to the Home.
“Next year we come home to London and we are expecting a terrific turnout from visitors and exhibitors around the world, and we look forward to creating a bigger buzz around 2013.”
The ECOC 2013 Exhibition will be held in London from 23 to 25 September. Please see
