Azzurri Communications, the leading systems integrator and managed services provider, won the ‘Best Managed Service’ award at the
European IT Excellence Awards 2011. The awards recognise excellence in the IT and Telecoms channels and are run by
IT Europa, the leading European IT publisher and market intelligence organisation.
Azzurri’s winning entry was based on the managed service it provides to University College London Hospital (UCLH). Azzurri devised and delivered a single-source managed service which rationalised and consolidated 21 communications suppliers into one. This enabled UCLH to take advantage of the latest IP telephony, mobility and networking technologies without any capital expenditure.
The European IT Excellence Awards are the only pan-European awards which recognise the crucial role that Independent Software Vendors (ISVs) and Solution Providers play in the delivery of real world solutions, and attracted entries from 31 countries. Crucially, all entries had to be supported by an endorsement by the client. The winners were then selected by an independent panel of consultants and editors.
This Managed Service award follows Azzurri’s success at the Comms National Awards in late 2010, where Azzurri won the ‘Best Unified Communications Solution’ award for its work with the same customer, UCLH.
Mark Quartermaine, CEO, Azzurri Communications commented, “Providing a seamless managed service across multiple IT and communications disciplines is at the heart of what Azzurri does. Our aim is to help our customers firstly remove complexity and cost from their ICT organisation and then deliver the highest levels of service going forward. It’s therefore very pleasing to gain industry recognition that we are achieving our goals.”
