London – March 24th, 2009 – Attenda Limited, the Always On Managed Services company, today announced that it has been awarded the 2009 VMware EMEA Hosting Partner of the Year Award for the second year running.
The award recognises Attenda’s continued leadership as a VMware EMEA hosting partner in the delivery of high availability virtualised infrastructure hosting and managed services.
The award was presented at the Partner Awards ceremony at VMworld Europe 2009, Europe's largest virtualization event, held at Les Palais des Festivals in Cannes, France, February 24-26, 2009.
Commenting on the Award, Matt Piercy, Regional Director for Northern Europe, VMware, said, “VMware congratulates Attenda for retaining this award, which recognises Attenda for the cutting-edge VMware virtualization and on-demand cloud services it delivers. As a founding member of the VMware Service Provider Program and VMware vCloud Initiative, Attenda has embraced VMware’s vision and technology and is helping to drive the adoption of virtualisation within EMEA.”
Attenda’s confidence in the adoption of the VMware platform for its Real Time Infrastructure has enabled it to deliver the benefits of faster provisioning, higher availability and lower cost that can be derived from traditional hardware hosting. It also reinforces Attenda’s social responsibility policy, helping the environment by consuming less power and requiring less data centre space.
As Mark Fowle, CEO, Attenda comments, “We have seen an increasing demand for virtualised solutions during 2008, as businesses look to reduce costs and improve the agility and efficiency of their data centre operations.”
Attenda’s flexible and scalable virtualization solutions deliver applications and compute capacity when and where they are needed, allowing critical business applications to perform at the highest levels of availability and efficiency, with improved disaster recovery capabilities.
As Fowle concludes, “We expect this trend to continue in 2009, as enterprises look for scalable and reliable ways to extend the applications that run their datacenters on-premise to an off-premise cloud. The VMware vCloud Initiative and VSPP will help us deliver this seamless cloud environment to our customers, who are looking for ways to make their infrastructures more agile and expand them to add capacity on demand while enabling a cost-effective, fully outsourced infrastructure to SMBs and workgroups.”
