London – July 11, 2013 – Attenda Limited, the Business Critical IT company, today announced that it is targeting to raise £10,000 in charity donations to Kidsco, through participating in the 2013 Rolex Fastnet Race, as part of the Attenda Extreme Initiative.

Attenda has entered three boats in this famous biannual offshore yachting race, organised by the Royal Ocean Racing Club of the United Kingdom; considered as one of the classic offshore races challenging both inshore and offshore skills,  boat and crew preparation and of course speed.

Commenting on the Fastnet Race Extreme Challenge, Mark Fowle, CEO Attenda says, “We launched the Attenda Extreme Initiative in early 2012, combining Extreme Charity and Extreme Endeavour.”

Fowle continues, “Through the initiative we aim to realise the collective efforts of many resources, create lasting memories of achievement and provide people with a chance to make a real, substantial, positive difference.”

The race itself sets off on August 11th and is expected to take around five days, non-stop. The route is 605 miles in a straight line, but many more on the water – as importantly we have set a target of raising £10,000 for Kids Company – Attenda’s chosen charity.  Each boat is crewed by up to 10 people; a mix of employees, Clients and business partners plus two professional crew members. The pre-event training program kicked off on 15th June, with crew members needing to complete 300 miles of offshore racing together, prior to the Fastnet Race.
