Milton Keynes, 30th January, 2012. DIGITALK, a UK-based vendor of consumer, carrier and mobile platforms and applications to competitive service providers worldwide, today announces that Atlantic Tele-Network, an operator of wireless and wireline telecommunications services in North America, Bermuda and the Caribbean, has selected the DIGITALK SBC VoIP Peering Platform to consolidate national and international call routing across its subsidiaries.

Atlantic Tele-Network has chosen to streamline the operations and management of routing and rating, with the DIGITALK VoIP Peering Session Border Controller sitting at the network core. The DIGITALK Carrier Platform will support US jurisdictional routing including local, intra and interstate routing, with local number portability look-up.

Ned DeMent, Director of Operations for Atlantic Tele-Network commented “We immediately see the potential for improved efficiencies from the solution, such as consolidating volumes and improved rates across our network, but also the features and general usability of the management interfaces will be advantageous to our operations.”

Justin Norris, CEO of DIGITALK added “The capabilities and scalability of the solution fit Atlantic Tele-Network’s network requirements very well. As with all our solutions, the Carrier Platform principles are built on complete turnkey deployment scenarios that combine, simplify, and support the needs of the operator to smooth daily operations and reduce overheads.”

DIGITALK SBC VoIP Peering is a complete network solution for international wholesale service providers. The solution is based on DIGITALK's carrier-grade, high capacity Carrier Session Border Controller supporting signalling interworking, carrier and topology hiding, media relay, DTMF interworking and dynamic media transcoding. The platform’s management capabilities include advanced margin- and quality-based carrier routing, real-time rating and credit control, and service monitoring and reporting.

DIGITALK will be exhibiting the Carrier Platform and web-based VoIP Peering Manager at ITEXPO 31st Jan-3rd Feb at Miami Convention Center. Product demonstrations are available by pre-booking through [email protected] or on a drop-in basis at booth 629.
