Aspect Enterprise Solutions (AES) today marks its presence in the multi-commodity trading and risk management (TRM) arena by signing Ambassador Lushbury Group, a trading group specializing in the metals, fuels and energy sectors, to its flagship commodity trading risk management platform AspectCTRM delivered as Software-as-a-Service (SaaS).
Formed in 2008 with the merger of project finance specialist Ambassador Consulting and commodity trading company Lushbury, the firm was established in South Africa to create a safe trading and financial environment to trade African commodities with the rest of the world. With offices in Africa, Asia, Europe and the CIS the company has developed strong international relationships linking suppliers and customers across the globe.
Harvey Puaar, director of European operations, stated “Having looked around for some time, it was clear that Aspect is the only company who can offer our business a full function CTRM platform, which we can access from any location at a price which fits our budget and return on investment model. They were very helpful and demonstrated excellent knowledge of our business. I look forward to working with them to leverage the power of AspectCTRM to help make our business more streamlined, efficient and effective. I would recommend small and medium enterprise commodity companies talk with Aspect Enterprise Solutions”
Ambassador Lushbury has a trading team completing complex deals each requiring a large amount of input and management. AspectCTRM provides a central repository for trades and all associated information which can be accessed via the Internet, in the ‘Cloud’. Operating from offices in diverse locations traders are able to bring information together to see their real-time positions, exposures, P&L and cash flows, without depending on error-prone spreadsheets or paper documents.
Steve Hughes, AES president and CEO said, “This entrée into the metals arena is a milestone for the Company and a significant event in the metals trading calendar. With this announcement, small to medium-sized metals trading firms are able to cost justify the sort of solution used by the world’s largest and most successful metals trading organization, which until now, have been cost prohibitive. We welcome Ambassador Lushbury as a partner and pioneer in this field. We look forward to working in close collaboration, as we do with all of our clients, to provide the solutions needed to solve real business problems and increase the effectiveness and efficiency of their operations”.
Ambassador Lushbury will initially use the AspectCTRM Metals product for their copper, cobalt and steel trading operations and plan to add oil trading in the near future leveraging AES’ multi-commodity framework. Puaar continues “With the ability to trade cross commodity on a single platform Aspect offers a truly unique solution for SME commodity houses worldwide.”
AES is not new to metals and steel markets with clients accessing its AspectDSC (Decision Support Center) for real time exchange, spot prices and news from leading sources such as London Metal Exchange (LME), Dow Jones and other leading metals/steel sources on mobile devices and desktop. AspectDSC is on the same platform as AspectCTRM creating a seamless portal for clients to price and trade commodities.
