Beijing/Cambridge, UK, May 14th, 2013: AsiaInfo-Linkage (NASDAQ: ASIA), Asia’s leading supplier of BSS systems, has helped China Mobile to victory in the TM Forum’s Annual Excellence Awards, with its work for the operator winning acclaim from the judges and taking the top prize in the Operational Excellence category. The prestigious award win was announced at a gala ceremony held on May 13th as part of TM Forum’s Management World 2013 conference in Nice, France.
China Mobile – the world’s largest operator by subscriber numbers – led the nominees this year with nominations in two of the four categories (Operational Excellence and New Digital Services), winning both awards on the night. The TM Forum awards are given annually to member companies recognised for their distinguished contribution and innovation in the OSS and BSS industry.
AsiaInfo-Linkage’s solutions provided the foundation for China Mobile Communications Corporation’s award nomination. The award for Operational Excellence covers AsiaInfo-Linkage’s implementation of its Cloud-based, multi-tenancy business support architecture, using TMF Frameworx initiatives, to serve the operational requirements of China Mobile’s different business units.
As a result of the implementation, China Mobile was able to both reduce existing operating costs across its business units, while smoothing the introduction of new digital services to reduce costs and increase revenues. The Cloud-based architecture developed by AsiaInfo-Linkage and its multi-tenancy approach enables a consistent platform to be deployed across operational business units while allowing for flexibility of approach within each unit.
More than 700 million China Mobile customers are now supported by AsiaInfo-Linkage’s cloud platform, which was overlaid on the existing systems thereby enabling processes to be streamlined and consistent within the flexible framework. AsiaInfo-Linkage recently launched its Veris™ product suite to the European market.
AsiaInfo-Linkage’s Global VP of Product Marketing, Andy Tiller said: “We are delighted that the innovation and clear business value of our solution has been recognised by the TMF Excellence Awards judges, and we congratulate China Mobile on this highly-deserved award win. The delivery of this solution to the world’s largest mobile operator is a landmark demonstration of the capabilities of AsiaInfo-Linkage’s technology and full-solution approach, and we’re now looking forward to helping European operators of all sizes harness the unique benefits that our solutions offer.”
