BEIJING/SANTA CLARA, Calif; Copenhagen, Denmark, 11th February 2014:  AsiaInfo-Linkage, Inc., Asia’s leading supplier of BSS systems, today announced the opening of a new European office in Copenhagen, Denmark.

The office will directly support AsiaInfo’s contract with Telenor ASA (Telenor Group); a major BSS transformation project described by Telenor Denmark CEO Marek Slacik as “crucial to create a new, simpler and more efficient Telenor”. The Copenhagen premises have excellent transport links and will support AsiaInfo as the company expands its European operations.

The contract with Telenor followed the successful launch of AsiaInfo’s Veris™ BSS product suite to the EMEA market last year.

Alex Hawker, AsiaInfo Managing Director, EMEA, said: “We are delighted to establish a base in Copenhagen so we are immediately on hand for Telenor and other potential customers in the Nordic region.

“With some of our staff relocating from Asia, as well as expertise joining us from the local Danish market, the new office will be a centre of excellence for BSS transformation. Initially we expect to recruit about 20 local staff to complement our existing European and Chinese teams for the Telenor project, and we have several of these on board already. Hiring will expand further as we pursue new customers and opportunities in the Nordics.”

The office opens as AsiaInfo once again prepares to showcase its latest innovations at the wireless industry’s largest annual event, the Mobile World Congress.
