ascom has chosen to deploy Unified Communications as its new communications platform. The newly created Division “Network Testing” will communicate internationally across three continents at more than 20 locations in an initial step, with the platform linking some 600 users.

ascom is renowned as an international provider of Security and Wireless Solutions. The new Division “Network Testing” emerges from the business unit TEMS and Telecom Solutions. Employees are located worldwide, distributed across three continents. Efficient communication is a critical factor for the Division’s success.

The decision was taken in November to implement Unified Communications (UC) with its modern communications solution Office Communications Server (OCS) from Microsoft. UC bundles communications channels, thereby enabling fully-fledged integration and automation of the whole of corporate communications.

ascom thus relies on the newest technology, which provides considerable added value. Alongside the reduction of travel costs and communications fees, the accessibility and speed of response of the Division’s employees will increase significantly.

CREALOGIX E-Business, with its specialist OCS know-how, is responsible for concept development and implementation.

Following successful going-live during the first quarter of 2010, a roll-out is intended into further areas and on other sites.
