London, 20th June: Market-leading ecommerce service provider, Pentagon, is driving online retail in the fashion sector, launching a store on etail giant eBay to enhance customer choice and experience.
Peacocks is the latest fashion retailer to partner with Pentagon, taking advantage of new opportunities offered by online marketplaces. The firm also joins a long line of established and high profile brands currently selling on eBay.
Since its launch in 2010, eBay’s fashion outlet has grown to over 140 retailers. With pioneering click-and-collect innovation driving customer engagement, it is little wonder that marketplaces expert Pentagon is leveraging the UK’s largest shopping destination for the benefit of its clients.
Laurence Guy, Pentagon CEO explained why a good eBay presence is such a big opportunity for brands like Peacocks:
"Value and fast fashion represent an incredible growth opportunity on marketplaces, specifically eBay. Whether it is a pure-play retailer like Boohoo or a high street giant like Sports Direct, we have seen fantastic results managing clients in this space. Marketplaces are clearly becoming core to an ever expanding Omni-channel landscape."
Sites like eBay and Amazon create an opportunity for brands to very quickly expand their audience, and are also the easiest way to test international markets. Along with their technical, account management, data manipulation and customer service expertise in marketplaces, many fashion retailers like Ann Summers and Blue Inc are choosing to work with Pentagon precisely because of their cross border trade capabilities.
Andy Wood, Finance Director at Peacocks saw the potential of eBay as a channel and has seen the benefits of calling on the expertise of Pentagon, including the company’s international support services:
“Peacocks is very excited to be leveraging the power of the eBay marketplace as we grow our Omni-channel offering. We believe our everyday value for money fashion offering and great online service will fit well with eBay customer needs, whilst in the longer term eBay could play a vital role in our international expansion plans.”
With over 100 skilled ecommerce people in its multi-lingual service centre, Pentagon is helping to internationalise the sales of fashion retailers across Europe, including El Corte Ingles, the Spanish retailing giant and largest department store group in Europe.
As 600+ senior-level leading eCommerce professionals join together at eTail Europe (23 – 26th June) the focus will be on customers insights, mobility and multi-platform understanding. Marketplaces are not just eBay, Amazon and Rakuten sites either. To be successful in Europe, brands and retailers need to be looking at Zalando, La Redoute, CDiscount, Fnac and Allegro, all of which are supported by Pentagon.
