Industry Veteran to Drive Global Development Strategy in Line with Customer Adoption of Enterprise Consumerization
London – September 19, 2012 – AppSense, the people-centric computing company, today announced that Keith Turnbull has been promoted to chief development officer (CDO). Turnbull will be responsible for driving AppSense’s global development strategy and will work closely with its product management team to service and expand product lines. His new role reaffirms AppSense’s commitment to providing customers with technology that bridges personal and enterprise computing.
With more than 30 years of experience in the software industry, Turnbull continues to bring exceptional new product development talent and vision to AppSense. Prior to his appointment as chief development officer, he served as vice president of global development for AppSense. Since joining AppSense in August 2011, Turnbull and his teams have released three versions of the user virtualization suite, launched AppSense Labs, which includes StrataApps, created the first versions of AppSense for Mac and Android devices and assisted in the acquisition of RAPsphere, a Silicon Valley-based mobile IT company.
"Throughout the last year, Keith has been critical in helping grow the business by introducing innovative and significant products into the market designed to meet the needs of IT departments struggling to provide employees with a superior, yet seamless computing experience,” said Darron Antill, CEO of AppSense. “I am pleased to recognize Keith in his new role as chief development officer and look forward to more of the same efforts that continue to push forward the people-centric transformation we are driving toward.”
Prior to AppSense, Turnbull spent 13 years in executive development and engineering roles at Citrix, driving development of key products, most notably leading Citrix’s XenApp efforts and delivering the first versions of XenDesktop. Before Citrix, Turnbull managed teams for electronic design automation companies and led design teams at Fairchild Semiconductor, National Semiconductor, TfL and Land Rover. He holds a masters and bachelor degree in Engineering from Cambridge University.
“AppSense is at the forefront of the user-virtualization market and is focused on delivering people-centric computing,” said Keith Turnbull, CDO of AppSense. “As customers continue to adopt our technology, they will be able to drive greater operational efficiencies. Innovation is the key to our driving this market and I’m excited to lead our development team in the creation and expansion of our product portfolio.”
