Accelerating Enterprise Windows 7, Virtualization Deployments
Sydney, Australia – 8 February 2011 – App-DNA, the global leader in application intelligence software, announced today its expansion into the Australian market to help enterprises accelerate application migration during a change of Operating System or virtualization project.
With a growing need for organizations to migrate from Windows XP and Windows 2000 to Windows 7 and with manual testing taking up to 12 months to complete, a recent Gartner report has highlighted that this is likely to put pressure on corporate budgets and resources in the coming two years and that the demand for IT migration personnel will exceed supply[1].
App-DNA develops the award-winning AppTitude application compatibility software platform, which, according to Australian General Manager Asia Pacific, Glenn Parker “is designed to save IT managers a great deal of time by automating the migration process, recognizing where programs are going to experience compatibility issues and recommending a solution.”
As enterprises combat the growing problem of migrating applications from one platform to another, they struggle to understand which applications will be successful on the new operating system – and these will vary from organization to organization. App-DNA AppTitude uniquely assesses application suitability for the new platform, tests for application issues, and suggests remediation steps to correct problems with the application.
Additionally, business-oriented reports help enterprises determine the time, cost and risk of application migrations. “With accuracy and automation as strengths, AppTitude streamlines processes to reduce the typical migration cost by around 70 percent and drastically reduces the deployment time compared to manual testing and ‘guesswork’ in finding errors,” said Parker.
“The software also analyses applications against an organization’s own environment; this produces higher quality results and the recommended fixes mean higher accuracy than manual testing.”
App-DNA is setting up a regional head office in Sydney and has a research and development effort based in Perth. Australian General Manager Asia Pacific Glenn Parker is heading up the Australian team and expanding reach into Asia Pacific. Parker is a 20-year veteran in the IT industry and has grown organizations previously in markets across Asia Pacific, having lived in Hong Kong and China.
“Already in Australia we have seen demand for a fast and accurate application migration solution and initial success in the financial sector, so we are very excited to be bringing App-DNA to the Australia and Asia market space. We are currently recruiting partners and additional staff to meet local demand.”
AppTitude is uniquely designed to automate and accelerate application testing, remediation, and management for Microsoft Windows 7, Internet Explorer 8, Microsoft App-V, or Citrix XenApp virtualization projects, and server migrations. Enterprises report 300-500% return on investment (ROI) from AppTitude.
