Amulet Hotkey are excited to announce the launch of the DXM-A PCoIP® Hardware Accelerator (APEX 2800) - a mezzanine card for use with Dell M series blade servers. The card, developed by Amulet Hotkey is based on Teradici’s ground-breaking PCoIP technology and integrates seamlessly with VMware® Horizon View®. The DXM-A enhances the performance of VMware Horizon View by offloading PCoIP image encoding tasks and reducing server CPU utilization. It empowers IT managers to protect and ensure a consistent user experience while enabling increased VDI consolidation ratios.

The DXM-A is designed for use with the Dell M520 & M620 servers with minimal configuration, both the M520 and M620 have slots for two DXM-A cards presenting IT managers with a powerful solution for improving VDI performance across the board.

A custom version of the product for Dell’s quarter height M420 blade will be available in October.

The technology ensures a consistent user experience by:

Creating virtual CPU headroom to deliver consistent application performance, enabling intensive applications to run smoother;

Reducing peaks in CPU utilization by up to 50% and smoothing overall CPU demand providing a reliable and consistent level of experience regardless of the overall demand on server CPUs; and

Constantly monitoring the graphic encoding demands of each display and dynamically offloads up to 100 of the most active displays

“Having satisfied the performance requirements of task worker personnel, many of our customers are focused on meeting the more demanding needs of their knowledge and power users. With our extensive background delivering high performance blade workstation solutions to the most demanding users across many industries, Amulet Hotkey is uniquely positioned to help customers find the right solution in a fast evolving technology landscape. Teradici’s PCoIP Hardware Accelerator (Apex 2800) is one of the most exciting leaps forward in VDI technology; we are thrilled to bring this breakthrough to the Dell blade family as it opens up so many options and possibilities for our customers and their users,” Keith Grundon, Technical Director, Amulet Hotkey.

“We’re delighted that Amulet Hotkey is bringing the performance benefits of the Teradici PCoIP Hardware Accelerator to a broad base of power users on Dell blade servers,” said Olivier Favre, Director of Product Management, Teradici.  “The DXM-A is an ideal solution for IT organizations seeking to deliver a consistent, high-quality experience to its users for heavy graphic workloads in a VMware Horizon View environment.”
