BARCELONA, Spain, Mobile World Congress – February 28, 2012 – Ascom Network Testing (stand 1C109), the leading provider of RF network testing, optimisation, benchmarking and monitoring solutions, has signed an agreement with UK-based AIRCOM International (stand 1A23), the leading independent network planning and optimisation consultancy. Through this partnership, AIRCOM will use Ascom Network Testing’s market-leading drive test analysis solution to validate and report key performance indicators to meet service deliverables for AIRCOM’s mobile operator customers.
AIRCOM will use TEMS Discovery, Ascom Network Testing’s wireless network reporting and analytics tool, for indoor test post processing, drive test analysis, and LTE network diagnostics. TEMS Discovery enables AIRCOM to analyse data from a variety of sources, and create customised summary reports to enable network engineers better identify and troubleshoot network issues. In addition, AIRCOM will customise TEMS Discovery to meet the unique KPI requirements for its customers, embedding best practices honed from decades of servicing the operators around the world.
AIRCOM will initially deploy 20 TEMS Discovery licenses for post-processing of multi-vendor drive test data at its regional service centres across the US, Africa, the UK, the Middle East and Asia.
“Selecting ASCOM was a natural choice for us, based on AIRCOM’s long-standing familiarity with TEMS tools and the comfort level that our customers have with the accuracy and flexibility of Ascom Network Testing’s solutions,” says Alwyn Welch, CEO of AIRCOM. “Of particular value to our customers was TEMS Discovery’s ability to provide automation and centralisation, which enables significant efficiency gains when analysing drive test data from a variety of third-party tools.”
“AIRCOM is an exceptional partner for Ascom Network Testing, as our companies share a common dedication to finding ways for operators to extract the maximum value and capacity from their existing mobile network investments,” says Rikard Lundqvist, General Manager of Ascom Network Testing. “As data traffic continues to expand exponentially, it’s never been more important for operators to have a precise handle on network performance through continuous monitoring, tuning and analysis”.
