Airbus Defense and Space, the global innovator and provider of choice for trusted satcom enabled solutions, is to deploy Newtec Dialog® platform for its global Enterprise VSAT business

PARIS, France, and SINT-NIKLAAS, Belgium, March 11th 2014 Satellite communications specialist Newtec and Airbus Defense and Space have signed an important contract to deploy Newtec’s Dialog platform as the technology of choice for providing global fixed VSAT solutions. In the coming months, new network hubs will be delivered and installed in several teleports serving Enterprise and Government customers, with remote VSAT terminals being deployed all across the globe.

The deal also marks the start of a broader technological partnership agreement where the complementary strengths of both companies will drive further improvements for the mobility and mission critical satcom market, tagged to be a key market for both companies.

As the leading provider in trusted satellite communications solutions for land, maritime and government customers, Airbus Defense and Space delivers high quality voice, broadband data, value added services and solutions across five continents. With a wide range of managed services  and mission-critical communications covered by stringent Service Level Agreements, the state-of-the-art Newtec Dialog platform will insure even higher levels of operational excellence.

Erik Ceuppens, Head of Satellite Communications at Airbus Defense and Space said: “Being faced with ever evolving markets requirements and the need to make more efficient use of our space segment, Newtec Dialog platform turned out to be the most future-proof technology choice for Airbus Defense and Space. It will power our next generation Enterprise VSAT services that will be launched later this year, as part of our AuroraGlobal initiative"

The Newtec Dialog® platform is a scalable and flexible multiservice platform which allows operators to build and adapt their infrastructure easily as their business and the satellite market grows and changes. It gives operators such as Airbus Defense and Space the power to offer a variety of new services on one platform together with the peace of mind of using the most efficient modulation and bandwidth allocation techniques.

“We are pleased to partner with Airbus Defense and Space. Our joint objective for sustained success in key markets such as the Enterprise and Government market allowed us to team up to deliver the best services to the market,” added Serge Van Herck, CEO of Newtec.
