Belfast, UK and Trondheim, Norway – February 22, 2013 – Aepona and Gintel have launched a new partnership to help Communications Service Providers (CSPs) launch new applications targeted towards SME and enterprise customers. The partnership is accompanied by the immediate availability of a new, joint solution that enables CSPs to capitalise on market trends such as increased employee mobility and businesses increasingly outsourcing their communications requirements.
The Mobile Enterprise Communications Service (MECS) is a complete, turnkey solution that can be easily deployed in mobile and fixed networks by CSPs, enabling them to offer cloud-based, hosted communications services to SME and enterprise customers. MECS consists of Gintel’s Easy Mobile PBX solution running on Aepona’s IP Services Platform, which ensures smooth deployment into any network environment as well as providing a future-proof platform for rolling out additional services. The solution supports advanced PBX-like functionality such as a web-based attendant console, call forwarding, conferencing and IVR integration, and works across all standard mobile handsets, IP phones, softphones and legacy devices.
“As well as enabling CSPs to immediately generate new subscription-based revenues, the new MECS solution will allow them to attract and retain new customers from the highly-strategic Small-to-Medium Enterprise sector”, said Michael Crossey, Aepona’s Chief Marketing Officer. “According to industry analysts Analysys Mason, the number of SMEs will increase at a CAGR of 0.6% worldwide between 2012 and 2017, but their spending on ICT services will grow more than three times faster. Our MECS solution will allow our CSP customers to capture an increased share of this spend”.
CSPS such as Tele2, Telenor, Orange, Axiata and more have successfully built profitable enterprise businesses based on Gintel’s technology. Ernst Thue, CEO of Gintel commented: “This is an opportunity that cannot be ignored. With revenues from consumer markets shrinking and new challenges from OTT solutions, there has never been a better time to target business users. With the Mobile Enterprise Communications Service, CSPs can rapidly build a profitable new revenue stream, and we are very excited to be working with Aepona in bringing this solution to its customers.”
The MECS solution will be demonstrated by Aepona at Mobile World Congress, Barcelona, 25th-28th February 2013, in Hall 8.1, Booth E30.
