The prize is awarded to the 100 most innovative technology companies in EMEA.
Stockholm, Sweden – June 3, 2010. Red Herring has selected Accumulate as winner of the Red Herring 100 Europe 2010, awarded to 100 private technology companies in EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa).
"This year was especially difficult," said Alex Vieux, publisher and CEO of Red Herring. "Despite the global economic situation, there were so many great companies producing really innovative and amazing products that we had a difficult time narrowing the pool and selecting the finalists. Accumulate shows great promise therefore deserves to be a Red Herring 100 winner. We know that this year's crop will grow into some amazing companies that are sure to go far."
Red Herring’s lists of top private companies are an important part of the company’s tradition of identifying new and innovative technology companies and entrepreneurs. Companies like Google, eBay and Skype were spotted in their early days by Red Herring editors, and touted as leaders that would change the way we live and work.
“We are proud of this prestigious appointment. Together with our partners, we hope and look forward to copy the success of the previous winners of this award,"said Stefan Hultberg, CEO of Accumulate.
To find the winners Red Herring's journalists evaluated several hundred private companies. Winners of the Red Herring 100 Europe Award were chosen based on technical innovation, quality of management and investors, market potential, customers and financial health.
