Munich, Germany (08 November, 2011) - ABBYY Europe, a leading provider of document recognition, data capture and linguistic technologies and services, today announced a new appointment to its team. Mattias Backlund has been appointed Regional Representative for ABBYY’s products for software developers and document and data capture products.
Mr. Backlund will look after the Nordic Region, which includes Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Finland and Iceland. He will oversee licensing of enterprise and integration solutions which include the ABBYY FlexiCapture data capture platform, ABBYY Recognition Server high volume document conversion product, and ABBYY Software Development Toolkits (SDKs). In his new position Mr. Backlund’s focus will be on nourishing and strengthening the ABBYY network and reinforcing ABBYY’s commitments to channel and customers in this key region.

Backlund has 20 years in the software industry including more than 8 years in ECM, WCM and Document Capture solutions in the region with vendors such as Sybase, Interwoven, Roxen and Nuance. He also possesses significant experience in solution sales driven projects, combining software and consultant partners to offer customised solutions.
