Remaining centered and composed during tough times is a sign of one’s character. How rewarding it is to keep grounded and in a state of witness consciousness even when stress is at a high level.
If ever you find yourself in a confrontation make sure that you separate your true self from any outside influence. For instance if one were to experience a disagreement with a co-worker, start your own healing and ultimately the healing of the relationship by unrelentingly remaining connected with your breath or a mantra; whatever it is it must be powerful and meaningful to you and must shake you to the awareness that you are not your thoughts and you are not the thoughts of the other party. Only from this state of awareness can a sufficient amount of separation occur to allow for a new compassionate viewpoint.
Considering that we create our reality one must take responsibility for ones thoughts as ones thoughts act like a wave on the surface of a pond…once they reach the edge of the pond there is no place to go but back in the same direction from whence they came. The quality of the wave of thought will vary from gentle to violent. It is up entirely to you how the reverberation comes back. We reap what we sew right?
I cannot stress enough the importance of separation from the energies and thoughts ill or otherwise during such a stressful encounter. Accusing, belittling and otherwise defending a mental position whether right or wrong is a willful act of the ego. You can bet that if the other individual holds a similar mental stronghold that the outcome will bode ill for both parties.
Instead allow for a moment the emotions and thoughts to simply be. Do not judge repetitive thoughts and watchfully coordinate your breath or mantra with such repetition and ultimately you will have made yourself a stronger individual. Becoming aware of the repetitive thought as it occurs is the first sign of true enlightenment and power of presence.
Consistently becoming the “observer” is to yield and become flexible. From such a place even self-deprecating thought holds no sway and one’s power becomes immeasurable. You do not have to be a victim of an “opponent”, “aggressor” or even yourself. Take back your beautiful God given gift of centeredness and compassion and new doors of communication open up. Take a stand against the ego’s need to be in the right. Stand fully aware that thoughts and mental positions are merely figments of the imagination and when you do, you will soon realize you have a choice: Allow your thoughts to create your body and world; or get in touch with the inner witness by following the breathe and thus remaining centered in the birthright of the infinite being who you are…always.
