2  THE TECHNO CLUB [ TECHNOWORLDINC.COM ] / Affiliate Marketing / Tips For Managing The Financial Aspect Of Your Home Based Affiliate Business on: September 21, 2007, 02:03:03 PM
Financial management is one of the pitfalls for people who are engaged in a home based affiliate business. Even if you choose a good home based affiliate business but you have no idea how to manage your business financially, you will most likely end up losing a lot of money. Since you cannot afford to waste your money, you must take care of your finances early on. It will not really do you any good if you just keep working on your business, not really knowing if you are making enough money to compensate for your efforts.

If you are running an affiliate business website from home, you are going to have to have an advertising budget. Making a budget can be easy if you understand the basic steps it takes to drive traffic to your affiliate business website. You will then be able to determine how much money you can afford to advertise accordingly. As your affiliate website becomes more popular through your advertising efforts over time, you will be bringing in more income and can set aside more money for your budget. At first you might only be able to budget for a limited amount of advertising methods. That's a good thing though, because it forces you to rely on that technique until you can afford other methods and the repetition of that advertising method will lead you to mastering it, or at least getting alot more proficient at it than when you first started.

Getting started

The first thing that you need to do to get your financial systems in place is to open a separate bank account for your business. A lot of home based affiliate business owners keep their personal funds together with their personal accounts that they end up drawing money which should have been for the business and vice versa. The practice of mixing up your personal funds and the funds for your business is very dangerous because you will not have much control over you business and personal finances. By opening separate bank accounts for your business and for personal use, you will be able to manage your money better.

Aside from setting up a separate bank account for you business, you must see to it that you also set up a separate funds for your business expenses. Since you are working form home, try to separate all the expenses that are related to your business from your home expenses. For instance, your business phone should be paid by money coming from your business account. You might also want to "bill" you business for utilities and rent. You can do this by setting a certain amount every month for utilities and rent then take this amount from the business account.

Out of your affiliate business earning, you might also want to set up a certain amount which you can draw out as your salary. The good thing about setting a certain amount of money every month as your salary is that you will be able to determine if you are indeed making enough money to pay for all your business expenses and at the same time pay yourself for your efforts. Make sure that you only draw-out the extract amount of money from the business for your salary. Even if your business is doing well and you have plenty of money in the business account, do not be tempted to draw more than you should. Keep the money in the business account for future use. You might want to expand your home business later on.

At the end of the year, you might want to give yourself a bonus. If you have been religiously following your own rules regarding your finances, you will be surprised at how much money you will have left in your business account at the end of the year.

Tax considerations

To start you know that all affiliate commissions earned from your website are going to be taxed. How much money is taxed on affiliate business commissions? Since you will be operating a home based business, what type of deductions will you be able to make? To answer these questions the first things you should do is go and talk to an accountant. Remember that when you are employed by someone, your taxes are taken out of your pay, and all you have to do is to file them at the end of the year. However, with a home based affiliate business you are the one who has to be in charge of doing taxes, your life will be alot easier if you take some time to find out the truth about the taxes paid by home based affiliate business owners.

So, the best thing that you can do is to visit someone who does this for a living. But make sure that it is someone who deals with home business owners on a regular basis, so that you can be sure you know what is going on and they do too. Another good option would be to find an accountant that comes well recommended.

The best thing that you can do is to find someone you trust to help you with your taxes, but never go into the situation without knowing what you are doing. Take a look at some tax courses and make sure that you are aware of what kinds of taxes you should be filing, and when you should be filing them. This is something that is very important for you to do because you want to be sure that you are able to get as much money back as you can and that you aren't paying too much. Many times owners of home based affiliate businesses overpay because they simply do not know what they are doing, and you have to be sure that this isn't going to happen to you.

4  THE TECHNO CLUB [ TECHNOWORLDINC.COM ] / Affiliate Marketing / How To Survive As A Clickbank Affiliate on: September 21, 2007, 02:00:44 PM
Don't you want to laugh at some of the ads you see. "Make easy money as a Clickbank affiliate". Let me tell you, if it was that easy, 95% of all Internet marketers wouldn't be failing at this business. So it's time that somebody printed a Clickbank affiliate survival guide. While this article won't be possibly replace an entire guide, it is the hopes of this author that it will be at least alert you to some of the things that as an affiliate you should be on the lookout for. Otherwise, life as a Clickbank affiliate can be a real nightmare.

Probably your biggest pitfall of being a Clickbank affiliate is your competition. What most people don't realize is that they are not alone in this business. Clickbank probably has the largest affiliate base of any affiliate network on the internet. So if you are going to have a chance of succeeding, the first thing you want to do is not try to compete with others promoting the same product.

This is probably the easiest thing to avoid because of the tools that Clickbank gives you. The Clickbank marketplace may very well be the greatest thing to come to Internet marketing since the introduction of the autoresponder. At the Clickbank marketplace, you can see every product that is being sold and make an informed decision as to what products you want to sell. How do you do this? You do this by examining the stats.

The stats that Clickbank tracks are dollars per sale, percent per sale, percent referred and gravity. Let's take them one at a time and point out what you'd like to see in each.

1. Dollars per sale is how much you will make on each sale. Ideally, you want to look for products that pay the most, especially if you are going to use Google Adwords to promote the products, which can really eat up profits quickly. But this is not the only thing you want to look for.

2. Percent per sale is the percent of each sale that the affiliate gets. Ideally, you want at least 50% on each sale. Some products pay as much as 75% or more. Of course, these products are more popular and harder to sell because of the competition.

3. Percent referred is the percentage of all sales that come from affiliates. This is a very important figure and usually coincides with the next stat. Ideally, you don't want to compete with the products where 85 to 90% of the sales are coming from affiliates.

4. Gravity may be the most important stat to gauge the competition. This figure tells you roughly how many affiliates are promoting this product. You want to sell product with little competition, you want to look for gravity numbers under 20.

Ok, putting this all together, ideally, these are the numbers you want to look for:

Dollars per sale - $25 or more
Percent per sale - 50% or more
Percent referred - Less than 70%
Gravity - Under 20

Believe it or not, these products exist. You just have to find them. When you do, you have found products that you will have a decent chance of selling, especially if you use Google Adwords and mine long tail keywords.

These are just some basics on how to survive as a Clickbank affiliate

5  THE TECHNO CLUB [ TECHNOWORLDINC.COM ] / SEO / Top 5 SEO Mistakes on: September 21, 2007, 01:58:26 PM
Search engine optimization is one of the best tools that most Web business owners can utilize in order to be able to make the most out of their business online. Unfortunately, not a lot of website or Web business owners know enough about SEO and what it can do to help them and their business.

If they are able to utilize SEO properly, then they will be able to increase their website traffic, and at the same time improve their sales, giving website owners the advantage over their competition online. Since not all of these Web business owners possess the knowledge of what search engine optimization is all about, and its possible benefits to their online business, they sometimes commit a few mistakes in their attempts to utilize such a program for their advantage. One of the mistakes that Web business owners often commit is that they spend too much time on the design of their website, and not enough time on the content. Keep in mind that the content of your website is more important than the design, which is why people who invest too much money on site designs primarily instead of focusing on its content will only end up wasting it since this will only bring in a few people to visit their website. Instead, try to invest in copywriting initially, and only spend money on the site design later on. Web business owners sometimes forget the importance of great content, and how they should create fresh content. Doing so will greatly benefit their online business since search engines will reward websites that offer fresh content to their visitors, regardless of its format. Some Web business owners tend to overlook this aspect, and they do not implement this in their websites, causing their website to not generate the desired amount of traffic. However, online business owners should not do this if they are only aiming to improve their search engine ranking. One way that they can improve their SEO ranking is by posting blogs or forums that its visitors can use and interact with other users, making them come back for more later on, thereby increasing the generated traffic. This is only possible, however, if the owners add a blog that contains something that can interest their site's visitors. This is where our third mistake comes in. There are some Web business owners who do not bother to offer something unique, especially in their site's content. If you are able to properly optimize your site by offering something unique and interesting to your targeted market, then your site can greatly benefit from the improvement in search engine results since people will be linking to your site through different mediums such as blogs and forums, creating more inbound links later on. Another mistake that online business owners commit is their use of inappropriate keyword phrases. It is important to remember that in order to be able to optimize the search engine result of your website, you need to make sure that you pick the appropriate keyword phrases, especially if you are only a small or mid-sized company. You should use the keywords that your potential customers may use in their search in the Web, and such keywords should be used in specific areas of your webpage. Lastly, Web business owners sometimes do not label their links and images descriptively, making it very difficult for their visitors to know what they are being directed to. Being descriptive as possible not only helps visitors, but it can also help online businesses, especially those trying to market a particular product since Web business owners can use their main keywords and phrases in their link and image labeling, making it easier for them to direct potential customers to their site. 6  THE TECHNO CLUB [ TECHNOWORLDINC.COM ] / Email Marketing / Creating A Great Autoresponder Letter Series on: September 21, 2007, 01:57:33 PM
Your autoresponder letter series, if written correctly can make you serious money on the Internet.

Studies have proven that most consumers buy only after repeated exposure to a product. This repeated exposure helps you to gain their trust enough to buy from you.

Having an autoresponder system is the hassle-free, automated way to put your product in front of interested buyers enough times to move them from consideration to purchase.

Have information on every page of your site of how a visitor can optin for futher information, join your ezine or newsletter or any incentive you can think of to get them to sign up to your autoresponder series.

Following are some informative tips on creating autoresponder messages that sell your product for you. You'll learn what to say, how to say it, how to format it, and how to avoid having your messages sent straight to the SPAM folder unread.

Here’s a breakdown of what your messages should contain.

1. Subject line. The subject line is the first thing people will see when they receive your message. It must be compelling enough to keep them from deleting the message unread. Do your research good on this. Learn everything you can on how to write good headlines. But also don't use hype. Since the person receiving this message has requested it, then it is logical to keep the subject on topic to what they requested to receive in the first place. i.e. Here is the information you requested on _____...

2. The opening sentence. Keep this true to your subject. Expand on it without hype or pressure. Don't mention the sale price, or tell them they must buy your product. Keep it promise based. i.e. tell them what they will learn or gain via the information or service you are going to provide.

For example say your subject was: Thank you ~Name~, here is the information your requested on earning a living at home.

Your opening sentence might be something like this: You are about to learn the very same strategies I use to make a full time living from my home.

3. Introductory paragraph. Explain in a concise paragraph exactly what your product will do for the buyer. Tell them how your product or service will help them to also make a full time living from their home. Avoid using ALL CAPS or excessive punctuation!!! This looks amateurish and, in the majority of cases, get your message deleted.

4. Subheadings and further information. Write bullet point type headlines with either bold letters or one step better put lines above and below them to set them apart. Then expand on these headings in a paragraph or two underneath them.

==============================
THIS WILL BE YOUR SUB HEADLINE
==============================

With more information below it...

5. A call to action. After you have finished your sub headlines and the corresponding information. Use a pre- closing paragraph to tell the reader exactly what you want them to do. "Click Here" to download this information instantly! or Click the link below, fill out the form to have this ~~Product~~ delivered to you immediately. Where possible point out the uniqueness of your product. Is it priced lower then competitors? Is it the only one of its kind? Or also if it is a limited time offer. Anything that will give the buyer more incentive to take the above action. Keeping it honest of course. Don't make something up just to get better results.

6. Closing Paragraph. Thank them again and also sum up what will be in the next message. "Watch your email the next few days for a great thank you gift I have set a side for you for taking the time to look at my product.", "I will have a free chapter, from my "make a living at home" ebook, for you in a few days.", etc.

7. DISCLAIMER. This is a short paragraph to remind people they are receiving your message because they asked to be on your list. It will keep them from clicking the “SPAM” button if they decide they aren't interested in your product, and keep your autoresponder and web site off Internet blacklists.

8. Unsubscribe link. This is critical to a successful autoresponder campaign. You must give subscribers the option to discontinue receiving messages from you, or you will be labeled as SPAM. Most autoresponder services will provide you with an automatic unsubscribe list for all your autoresponder series. All you have to do is make sure to include the link in your message.

One of the most powerful ways to get more traffic to your site can be your autoresponder series. Your well-crafted messages will send people in droves to your site to check out what you have to say. Just make sure you give them a good reason to go there, and great reasons to keep coming back, and you will build a rock-solid autoresponder campaign that keeps your profits rolling in.

A quick tip on how to format the messages... with today's advances in email, HTML is a good option if your autoresponder system allows it. One step better is to use one that has both plain text and HTML options so that when a person has HTML turned off for their email software, they will receive the text version only. For the letters to look uniform and to avoid the auto wrapping many autoresponder systems will use when adding your letters, I highly recommend not making the lines of your letters longer than 50 characters in length.

Kick start your campaign by offering a free report or e-book via a lead capture page with your autoresponder sign up form attached to the autoresponder letters you create. It will keep a non-stop flow of people receiving your letters and coming to your site to buy your products.

Sincerely, Debbie Ducker

7  THE TECHNO CLUB [ TECHNOWORLDINC.COM ] / Ecommerce / Is Your E-Store Ready for the Holidays? on: September 21, 2007, 01:56:26 PM
From amongst many ways to attract customers some especially interesting methods involve profit-making holiday promos and events. This article is about how to use the holidays to make some extra income.

Attract customers and make them stay - or even come back – with these especially interesting holiday promos and events. The Independence Day Holiday provides a perfect time to test out this profit-making method.

Here are several tools for making your website more attractive and friendly especially for a holiday promotion:

1. Sell what you have in stock.
At least in the main pages of your store, every product you display needs to be in-stock and ready for delivery. Be sure not to tie up the better selling spaces with out of season or out of date products (you may want to launch a Clearance or Out-of-Season section as a category).

2. Will the product arrive before the 4th of July?
Do your best to deliver the product on time (especially those that are bought to be used on the holiday). Your seasonal delivery schedule, delivery rates and premium delivery services should be clearly posted to make sure that every employee serving your online customers fulfills the published delivery commitments. But in the case of any unexpected problems you must inform the customer immediately. This will give the customer enough time to make alternative purchasing arrangements.

3. Giveaway (and give away).
When giving something for free to your customers make sure that you attach in someway the information on your products. After all you are the one giving the gift - you deserve at least the consideration of including information. Provide product information details including selling price, approximate shipping cost and the store department or category where each suggested product can be found. On major holidays you can send two mailings. In example, during a Christmas promo campaign send one mailing a month before the holiday and one a week before the event. In a holiday atmosphere reminders like these will help you to attract your audience.

4. Be easy to contact.
During a holiday make sure to give your customers clear directions on how and when to contact you. Prominently display your toll-free number if you have one. Your regular telephone and fax numbers should also be posted. Prominently display your customer service e-mail address and your business hours with a schedule of when you will have service staff on duty. Remember that even if you have a big and visible “Contact Us” link where customers doesn’t expect to see it, it will probably not be seen. And remind all your customer service employees that just because your customers are at the other end of the Internet doesn’t make their problems of any less importance.

5. Never underestimate your customer feedback.
Undoubtedly you have received feedback from your online customers by phone, by e-mail or by other methods. What does this feedback tell you? It tells you very clearly, from the most valuable of all critics, who are not interested in flattering you, exactly what would be better for them. And pleasing them, as you must remember, is your primary goal. If they are telling you that you are good – you must strive to be better. If anything isn’t quite right – get it fixed! And also be sure to always report the positive changes that you have made because misinformation is the number one reason for online shopping cart abandonment. Don’t let this thing take your holiday income from you.

As you see there are only 5 simple steps here to make your e-Store more attractive. They will also help each customer or visitor to enjoy being on your website, which will probably lead to a purchases in future.

8  THE TECHNO CLUB [ TECHNOWORLDINC.COM ] / Copywriting / How to Create an Outline For All of Your Articles on: September 21, 2007, 01:55:01 PM
We’ve done it through junior high, it expanded longer through high school, then in college it became chapters. No matter how many times a person have done it, writing articles has proven to be a task many have continuously avoided.

Now at a time when writing articles could help your job or work, facing the job at hand can be still faced with unfriendly behavior.

While there are a great number of people who do not have the same attitude in article writing as others, there are still those who would rather walk in piping hot coals than do some article writing. What set other people apart from other towards article writing is that they are prepared and has some methods and procedures in writing articles.

One of the methods you can use to prepare yourself when tasked to write in article is creating an outline first. Creating an outline for all your articles makes you prepared. You have an idea of what to do first and make a plan for your succeeding steps. Being prepared makes the job easier and faster. Being organized will allow for disorientation to be shunned away.

An outline can act as the design or blueprint for your article. This will guide you in creating the introduction, body and conclusion of your article. Here in this point, you can write down some of the ideas and sentences that you feel will look good in your article. This could be some of the focal point that could help make your article creative, interesting and appealing to a reader.

A carefully planned and fully prepared project would guarantee and ensure a problem and worry free procedure that can virtually go without any hassles. Creating an outline for all your articles will get you ready and breeze through writing an article in no time at all. Here I will provide you with some tips and guidelines in how to create an outline for all of your articles.

Do a couple of brainstorming and jot down your brilliant ideas first. Think of some ways to attract the interest of your reader. Designate a time frame where you can write down all the ideas that you can use for your articles. By this time you should have done all your research and information searching. Review and reread your ideas and notes, gain mastery and sufficient familiarity with your topic so that writing them down later own would be easy for you.

The next step is to discover your sub topic and sub titles. As you would provide a first sentence for your article, one that would immediately grab the attention of your reader, you would need some as well for your sub topics. To be concise, you would need to get all the facts that will support and go against your point.

These are the frames or skeleton of your article, now its time to add the flesh and the meat of your article. You will need to connect all your paragraphs and sub topics. This will form the body of your Article. While the introduction will usher in the ideas of your paragraph, you will need a conclusion. The conclusion will wrap up your points and drive in what you are saying in your article.

The outline for your article would also require you to write a draft first. This may take more than one attempt but remember that it is called a draft for a reason. Your outline shall be perfected as each draft is written and this draft is meant for your eyes only so there’s no reason to feel ashamed. Viral Marketing Overview

Viral Marketing also known otherwise as Viral Advertising is a marketing technique used to build the public awareness of one’s product or company. They use many forms of media to reach out to the public without actually promoting the product by riding on in other forms of addictive means that could get a person hooked and be obliged or amused to actually pass it on, with the product or company advertisement along with it.

In a nutshell, companies ride on the idea that if people like the content of a media they will pass it on to their friends and family. They sponsor the certain media, such as a cool flash game, funny video, amusing story and such, which one may pass on to another with the company brand or logo or the products description or any other content to help promote the company or its product.

Viral marketing has become a popular means of advertising and marketing because they are relatively low cost. To avoid being tagged as spam mail, viral marketing counts on the eagerness of one person to pas on the product. If a person sees the name of the person they know as the sender, they won’t block it and open it as well.

Many companies offer incentives such as discounts and rebates when they help in spreading their viral marketing. They rely on the number of recipients a viral marketing gets from one person in determining the amount or number of incentive they can be attributed with.

Using Viral Marketing to your advantage

The main and foremost advantage of viral marketing is that you get a lot of publicity and public awareness about your site and your company. You get to generate a flow of traffic that are potential customers. They are also very low cost that not investing in it could be downright a business suicide. All it takes is a great idea, a good addicting game, a funny story many ideas are still out there. Create a gossip or a buzz, many movies are promoted by using scandals and gossips to make them moiré popular. Remember the movie “The Blair Witch Project”?

Many big companies have tried viral marketing and have had many success stories with it. A classic example is Microsoft’s Hotmail. They were the first known big company to utilize the scheme and it has worked wonders for them.

11  THE TECHNO CLUB [ TECHNOWORLDINC.COM ] / Webmaster / Evaluating your Web Site Performance on: September 21, 2007, 01:49:48 PM
Setting up a website is the very first step of an Internet marketing campaign, and the success or failure of your site depends greatly on how specifically you have defined your website goals.

If you don't know what you want your site to accomplish, it will most likely fail to accomplish anything. Without goals to guide you in developing and monitoring your website, all your site will be is an online announcement that you are in business.

If you expect your site to stimulate some form of action, whether it is visitors filling out a form so a representative can contact them, or purchasing a product, there are steps you can take to insure that your website is functioning at peak efficiency. One of the first indicators of how well your site is working for you is finding out the number of visitors in a given period of time. A good baseline measurement is a month in which you haven't been doing any unusual offline promotional activities.

However, just because hoards of people have passed through your gates does not mean your site is successful. Usually, you want those visitors to actually do something there. It is equally important to monitor the number of visitors to your site who made a purchase. This figure is called the site conversion rate, and it is an essential element of the efficacy of your website.

To find the site conversion rate, take the number of visitors per month and figure out the percentage of them that actually performed the action your site is set up for. For example, if you had 2,000 hits to your site, but only 25 of them purchased your product, your site conversion rate equals 1.25%. To get this figure, take your number of visitors and divide that figure by the number of visitors who made a purchase. Then divide that result by 100 (25 ?00 X 100).

If your website is set-up to get visitors to fill out a form, make sure to then figure out what the difference is between your site conversion rate and your sales conversion rate.

This is because not everyone who fills out your form will actually become your customer. However, whether your site is set-up to sell a service or product, or to get the visitor to fill out a form, the site conversion rate will measure the success or failure of your website whenever you make changes to the site.

You may find that you need to implement some additional marketing strategies if you find that traffic to your site is extremely low. There are several effective methods to improve the flow of traffic to your website, particularly launching a search engine optimization campaign. This campaign is targeted at increasing your position in search engine results so that consumers can find your pages faster and easier.

You can either research the steps you need to take to improve your search engine rankings, or employ a search engine optimization company to do the work for you.

In either case, after your have improved your search engine positions, make sure you keep on top of them by regular monitoring and adjusting of your efforts to maintain high positions.

Another factor to examine is how easy it is for a visitor to your website to accomplish the action the site is set-up for.

For example, if your goal is for the visitor to fill out a form, is this form easily accessible, or does the visitor have to go through four levels to get to it? If it's too difficult to get to, the customer may just throw in the towel and move on to another site. Make sure your buttons are highly visible, and the path to your form or ordering page quickly accessible.

Finally, have a professional evaluate the copy on your website. The goal is, of course, to get your visitor to make a purchase or fill out your form. Website copy must be specifically geared to your online campaign and not just a cut and paste job from your company brochure. The right copy can make the difference between profit and loss in your online campaign.

12  THE TECHNO CLUB [ TECHNOWORLDINC.COM ] / Internet / Social media optimization, a source to become popular on: September 21, 2007, 01:48:07 PM
I was browsing through my school album the other day and a picture of my classmates caught my attention. The memories of all the good times, bad times, the laughter, joy and tears overwhelmed me. The memories were so strong and it felt like it was just yesterday all this was happening. I lost touch with a majority of my classmates and being a mother of two young kids I understand how difficult it gets to meet and catch up with old friends. However, as we all know that it is technology that drives our world today and this has made all things possible for us. I came to know about social media platforms where you can find about almost everybody. Of course, that person will need to have an online profile, but then in today’s world everyone has an online identity. Social media platforms have become so huge these days that you will find that many activities happening there.

Social media optimization is the one strategy that is being undertaken on a huge scale by online business owners to popularize their site and business. Social media optimization has in fact come up as one of the best strategies that can be used for online marketing. The World Wide Web is overpopulated with online sites dealing with different types of information, selling services, products and many others. The whole ides is to popularize a site so that visitors do not face any difficulty in finding out whatever they are looking for. Most visitors on the web make sure of the search engines to find out anything on the web, so it is important for a site to have high search engine rankings.

There are different methods through which one can optimize a site on the web; social media optimization and search engine optimization are some of the methods that are used for this. Social media optimization is one of the very popular methods and the reason for this is the increasingly large number of people who are active in different social media networking platforms like MySpace, Facebook, Orkut and several others. Just take a look around and you will find that the way in which people interact and keep in touch with others has undergone a sea change. So today, if you want to get in touch with your long lost classmates, you do not need to go back to the city or town where you went to school.

Just log on to any of the social networking sites and you are bound to come across an online community of your school or college. Even if it happens that you do not come across any community on your school, college or university, you can just create one and make it a platform where you can interact with others. Social media optimization is being undertaken extensively and if you want your site to rank at the top of all major search engine results, this is what you must do extensively and regularly. By the way, I got in touch with many of my school friends through a social networking site.
13  THE TECHNO CLUB [ TECHNOWORLDINC.COM ] / Online Promotion / Ezine ads paves your path to success on: September 21, 2007, 01:46:26 PM
Ezine Ads are one of the swiftest and cost effective ways to generate traffic and revenue to your website. They are basically used to carry out joint ventures or ad swaps.Ezine Ads are categorized on their basis of operation (i.e the type of application).

A)Classified Ads:Basically small Ads that appear at the bottom of the newsletter. They are used when limited space is provided for posting the ads.Hence they are meant to be to the point and must have an appeal to target visitors.

B)Sponsor Ads:They are used for descriptive purposes. They are placed either at the top of the newsletter or at the middle. They are costlier then classified ads and are more effective on grounds of their position on the newsletter.

c)Solo Ads:They are the most effective amongst the three and at the same time expensive. They fill up the entire newsletter describing your ad.

Advertising through ezine is effective undoubtedly, but there are people who keep on lamenting about their failures. There are a set of rules one must follow prior to posting an ad.

POINTS TO BE FOLLOWED FOR SUCCESFULL EZINE ADVERTISING:
1)save money and concenterate advertising using Solo ads. They have the best chances of being read by the subscribers as they have no other ads placed on the newsletter.

2)Swap an ad:This is the most basic swap that you can participate in, and will create a win-win situation as both you and your swapper will get your ads in front of a targeted audience.

3)SUBJECT AND CONTENT:The textual and the basic part of the ad.The subject and matter must be completely appealing. If the subject of your content and purpose of the reader matches then you hit bull's eye. There is no point in having a subject that a reader gets bored off instantly and closes the newsletter. The complete effort and money is wasted.Even if your content is good it will not make any difference if the subject is dull.

Moving on to the contextual part.Be to the point.A deatiled insight will always grasp the readers eye and make him or her addicted to your newsletter.Give him everything anyone could possibly offer so that he doesn't go hunting for other options available.Make sure that you have readers to whom reading your newsletter is a compulsion.

4)When you are advertising an affiliate program or promoting a service or product of a host to a customer, don't give the website address of the host to the customer. The reason is simple.Say for instance a host has a couple of products to be sold or service to be utilized. You are handed over the responsibility to advertise a product or service from the list and you promote it to the customer. If the customer feels unsatisfied by the performance of the service ,he complains to you as you are the lead.So you have another option to promote the remaining product.Where as if the customer has the web address of the host he goes to the webpage and finds out every thing and does the communication himself and you loose both the leads.
Hence it is important that the customer and host are unaware of each others presence.

5)Advertise in well known Ezines and which are related to the topic you are advertising.

6)Write your own articles and get it published in ezines and placed on websites.Origional authors command more respect. These articles stay on the websites for years generating traffic. If you have a website for promotion, you can add it along with the signature.Writing articles for ezines is the most effective way to advertise using ezines. It’s cheap and will generate traffic for a long period.

For success in SEO through any path be it article submission ,blogging, ppc or ezine ads you need targeted traffic.Once you capture an audience that is solely yours and are dedicated to your information or website whatsoever, you emerge triumphant.

14  THE TECHNO CLUB [ TECHNOWORLDINC.COM ] / SEO / SEO for Baidu on: September 21, 2007, 01:45:43 PM
Introduction

Baidu is most popular search engine in China. Google China is second to Baidu. Lots of Internet marketers in the West do not know much about Baidu, and assume its’ ranking algorithm is similar to Google China. It is purely based on the assumption that when it can beat Google in a large market, its’ ranking algorithm should be comparable to Google.

Unfortunately, it is wrong. Baidu’s search result is mixed up with lots of paid links and natural links. It is difficult to distinguish them. In addition, the natural ranking algorithm is not very sophisticated and many spamming and illogical results can be found. According to a study by China Internet Network Information Center (CNNIC) in year end of 2006, Chinese users perceived that Google’s search relevancy is much better than Baidu.

You can click this link and learn more about Internet usage in China

Why Baidu can be No.1 in China?

If its’ ranking algorithm is much inferior to Google, how come Baidu can be more popular in China market? There are 4 possible reasons I can think of:

1. According to CNNIC, Google China has server down time and frustrated users.
2. Baidu is developed by local Chinese, driven by patriotism and language friendliness, general Chinese users tend to use Baidu.
3. Baidu was established before Google entered into China market. Thus, Baidu has first mover advantage.
4. Baidu is famous for its’ strong MP3 search and lots of young internet users are searching for songs in MP3 format daily.

However, CNNIC also revealed that white-collar urban professional in major China cities, and citizens with overseas study background tend to use and love using Google China. Usually, their spending power is much higher, and Google China has advantage in this niche.

Optimization Tips You Need to Know

1. Title and Meta Tags

Like Google, Title tag is also very important. Unlike Google, Meta description and Meta keywords tags are still very useful in improving ranking in Baidu. As always, we do recommend clients add meaningful Meta description and keyword tags because they are still important for some popular localized search engines.

2. Content

It is similar to other popular search engines. Your website copies should have keywords you want to optimize. The higher the keyword density, the better is the result. If your keyword density is too high, it can adversely affect search engine rankings in other search engines, however. Therefore, we recommend 6-12% for Baidu optimization.

3. Linking

Unlike Google, Baidu does not have a sophisticated algorithm to determine link relevancy and link quality. Quantity seems more important than link quality. Incorporating keywords in internal anchor text has some positive effect on Baidu ranking.

4. Content Language

Since Baidu is developed in Mainland China, if your site has simplified Chinese, you are easier to get exposure in Baidu.

People may also wonder if English keywords are used in China. From our experience, it really depends on your industry and targeted visitors. For example, English keywords are used by high income office workers, manufacturing and trading firms, or banking professional. If your target is general mass market, Chinese keywords are dominant in frequency of use.

5. Alt Tag

Alt tag with keywords incorporated into Alt text is good for Baidu optimization. However, it is not advised to stuff too many keywords inside.

6. Server

If your site is mainly targeted for Mainland China, we recommend you hosting your site in Mainland China. It helps your Baidu ranking significantly.

It is not essential to get .com.cn or .cn domain names, however.

7. Geographical Market

China is a very big company. Internet marketers are difficult to target every province and city of China. You must determine the location of your high value customers. If they are mainly based in Mainland China, your site should use simplified Chinese. If you are targeting Hong Kong and Taiwan, your site should use traditional Chinese.
Of course, it does no harm if you include both Chinese versions. If the wordings can be more localized to the city or province you target for, it can yield better conversion rate.

Also, Baidu is only popular in Mainland China, particularly in the northern part. In Hong Kong and Taiwan, Baidu is an insignificant search engine player.
