10 Things You Should Know After Becoming an Orkut Member ONE If you're ugly, stop acting like you don't know it. The captions under your picture that says "top model pose" "superman/superwoman" "arnt i hot/handsome/cute" doesn't convince anyone. TWO To the people who have like 25,000 friends, are you serious? Nobody in this universe can keep up with that many friends. You're stupid. Go play in traffic. THREE Don't ever post pictures and say "OMG, I'm so ugly" "OMG,I'm so fat" because if you were, you wouldn't post them. FOUR Nobody cares about threats over the internet. Don't try to act hardcore with the keyboard. Fighting online is like racing in the special olympics; even if you win, you're still retarded. FIVE Making 20 bulletins a day about how you hate other people b/c yoUR not on their top 8. who really cares, i mean get over it! SIX Who really gives a crap if I don't accept you as a friend? MOVE ON!!! Don't send me another request or message asking "what's up with you, not adding me?" I don't want you as a friend; that's what's up! SEVEN Little 12 year olds who have Orkut and look like little cartoons, go somewhere else because nobody wants you here. EIGHT If you have decided to read this, you are a true Orkut Friend. Real friends read their bulletins. NINE I say you go and pass this on and maybe it will finally get through people's brains TEN And if you open a bulletin and it says something like "repost this in 100 seconds or a ghost will rape your dog tonight," IT'S NOT REAL! QUIT BEING AN IDIOT!!!!!!!!

SYN Flood A SYN Flood attack is a type of denial of service attack meant to bring a network to its knees by repeatedly bombarding it with useless traffic. This network security failure begins when an attacking source generates TCP packets with random IP addresses and directs them towards the victim host. The host server replies by sending SYN ACK packets to the spoofed source addresses, which fail to respond. Hence, the host's finite-sized queue of connections waiting to be completed is filled, and before these half-open connections can time out, legitimate requests are denied. Because the IP addresses are spoofed, the source is difficult to identify. However, network security solutions to monitor traffic and limit damage are widely available. Survey Software Survey software describes the packages used to design, manage, and analyze customer use and satisfaction surveys, as well surveys for employees or any other relevant party. Survey Software ranges from out-of-the-box pre-designed tools that provide only basic question customization and raw data reporting to highly customizable surveys with powerful reporting features. One particularly useful survey software feature is the integration with an organization's database so that survey questions are tailored to the features (at risk, repeat buyer etc.) of the customer being surveyed. SSL Certificate An SSL digital certificate is an electronic file that uniquely identifies individuals and servers. Digital certificates allow the client (Web browser) to authenticate the server prior to establishing an SSL session. Typically, digital certificates are signed by an independent and trusted third party to ensure their validity. The "signer" of a digital certificate is known as a Certification Authority (CA), such as VeriSign. spyware Computer software that gathers user information, usually for advertising purposes, without the knowledge or informed consent of the user. Spyware generally finds its way onto computers as programs covertly bundled with downloaded software, or else as a result of browsing dubious websites. Spyware can monitor a user's web activity, scan files, create pop up ads, log keystrokes, change the default page on the web browser, and even gather password and credit card information. Spyware technology is constantly evolving, but most spyware removal programs are continually updated to keep pace with the latest variations. |
spam filter A device for blocking unsolicited junk email, known as spam. Spam filters can be set up at the network level, so that junk email is blocked from entering a local network, or else at the individual computer level, so that junk emails are sorted out into a separate junk email folder. Spam filters involve a security level trade-off; the goal is to block all unsolicited email without accidentally filtering out email from legitimate senders. Internet service providers and spam filter software vendors have devised clever algorithms to do this sorting for you, or else allow you to tweak and customize the filters to your individual preferences. Related terms: spam, anti spam software, enterprise spam filter, junk email spam filter, spam blocker

Spam Bayes Project Spam Bayes is an open-source project to create the ultimate spam filter. Initially based on the work of Paul Graham, the central algorithm employs a Bayesian filter to classify and sort messages. Initially, the filter must be 'trained' by the user, who classifies mail as spam or non-spam. After a sufficient amount of training, the algorithm runs on its own with an extremely high success rate. The engine has been built in to plug-ins for Outlook, Eudora, and other mail applications, and a variety of commercial vendors offer free, personal-use spam filters that incorporate Spam Bayes technology. Related terms: junk email, spam, spam filters, spam blocker, anti-spam, personal spam filter software

Six Sigma Six Sigma is a quality management program to achieve "six sigma" levels of quality. It was pioneered by Motorola in the mid-1980s and has spread to many other manufacturing companies. Six Sigma aims to have the total number of failures in quality, or customer satisfaction, occur beyond the sixth sigma of likelihood in a normal distribution of customers. Here sigma stands for a step of one standard deviation; designing processes with tolerances of at least six standard deviations will, on reasonable assumptions, yield fewer than 3.4 defects in one million. Related terms: Six Sigma Training, Six Sigma Certification, Six Sigma Black Belt
