3  THE TECHNO CLUB [ TECHNOWORLDINC.COM ] / Notebooks / Motorola Motopure H12 on: December 07, 2007, 09:59:00 PM
Motorola Motopure H12

Blending high style with excellent noise-cancellation technology, the Motopure H12 is a superlative Bluetooth headset. Incorporating Motorola's groundbreaking CrystalTalk sound enhancement and noise-canceling technology (found in the RAZR2 V8 and AT&T's V9 phones), the Motopure H12 is a stylish and comfortable Bluetooth headset that provides the long battery life and easy functionality that power users demand. Although it won't block out all background noise, the audio clarity was much better than that from the average Bluetooth headset.Read Full Review | View SpecsStay connected and informed with LAPTOP's new RSS News feeds.Covering all the latest industry news and mobile product updates you want to know about. 4  THE TECHNO CLUB [ TECHNOWORLDINC.COM ] / Notebooks / Samsung BlackJack II on: December 07, 2007, 01:37:56 AM
Samsung BlackJack II

It should be called the 1.5, but the BlackJack 2 is still one of the best value-priced smart phones. The original Samsung BlackJack was one of our favorite Windows Mobile phones because of all the features it delivered for a low price, including 3G data and support for Cellular Video and XM radio. The Windows Mobile 6-powered sequel sports a sexier design and a lot of other improvements, including a beefier battery, more internal memory, and GPS navigation support. There's really not much innovation going on here, but for $149, the BlackJack II has all the makings of a successful sequel.Read Full Review | View SpecsStay connected and informed with LAPTOP's new RSS News feeds.Covering all the latest industry news and mobile product updates you want to know about. WindowBlinds 6

Use this Object Desktop-pullout to tweak Vista or XP and breathe new life into your boring old desktop. If you've grown tired of the standard Windows interface, your only recourse within the OS is to change some colors and your desktop background with a new picture or wallpaper. But Stardock's release of WindowBlinds 6, which works with both XP and Vista, lets you add a remarkable level of customization. It even goes so far as to mimic specific products or brands that you just can't get enough of, and it infiltrates more than just your desktop and colors.Read Full Review | View SpecsStay connected and informed with LAPTOP's new RSS News feeds.Covering all the latest industry news and mobile product updates you want to know about. 6  THE TECHNO CLUB [ TECHNOWORLDINC.COM ] / Notebooks / LG Venus on: December 05, 2007, 02:47:09 AM
LG Venus

A fashionable multimedia slider that gives you a taste of touch without ditching the dialpad. With its half-touchscreen display and slider form factor, the Venus by LG is like the little brother to the full-touchscreen Voyager. It's a flashy multimedia phone that will turn heads, but it costs a pretty penny. While not without its flaws--namely its key-locking mechanism--the Venus is a worthy upscale alternative to the LG VX8700 and Motorola MOTORAZR2 V9m.Read Full Review | View SpecsStay connected and informed with LAPTOP's new RSS News feeds.Covering all the latest industry news and mobile product updates you want to know about. 7  THE TECHNO CLUB [ TECHNOWORLDINC.COM ] / Notebooks / MindMapper 2008 Standard on: December 04, 2007, 01:01:09 AM
MindMapper 2008 Standard

MindMapper 2008 Standard's keyboard shortcuts make it a simple app for creating digital brainstorming maps.Mindmapper 2008 Standard has an intuitive interface that lets you link ideas and plans. Resembling Microsoft Office 2003, Mindmapper allowed us to create a large chart and connect clouds or boxes to one another using a selection of various arrows. Unlike with some of the other programs, inserting an idea is a cinch via keyboard shortcuts. You can have numerous projects open at the same time and switch among them. The colored tabs were helpful for navigation, and we appreciated the instructional videos, which include animation. However, the sidebar's numerous options and the number of toolbars, drop-down menus, and windows take some getting used to.Read Full ReviewStay connected and informed with LAPTOP's new RSS News feeds.Covering all the latest industry news and mobile product updates you want to know about. Mindjet MindManager Lite 7

Mindjet MindManger's sleek interface makes it a user-friendly and fun digital brainstorming app.MindManager has the most compelling interface of all the brainstorming programs we tested. With a Microsoft Office 2007 look and feel, this program comes with all the tools you want for editing and making your brainstorms presentable and organized. Adding text or images off the main idea, as well as creating subtopics and call-outs is extremely easy, and these can be positioned anywhere on the screen. MindManager's Charts and Spreadsheets, a feature that can display map data in a chart or spreadsheet, is a unique option. The Pro version offers add-ons for exporting/importing to and from Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. This service has a slight learning curve, but there are several video demos to help get you started.Read Full ReviewStay connected and informed with LAPTOP's new RSS News feeds.Covering all the latest industry news and mobile product updates you want to know about. This mouse's customization features make it a must-have for gamers.Lachesis, one of the three Fates from Greek mythology, also means "bringer of silent death" in Latin, according to Razer. Part of the reason people buy Macs is because of Apple's attention to style. Whether it's bondi blue, smooth white, glossy black, or brushed metal, Mac hardware is as much about functionality as it is the overall aesthetic. Of course, attention to aesthetics doesn't ...

11  THE TECHNO CLUB [ TECHNOWORLDINC.COM ] / Notebooks / Sony Reader Digital Book PRS-505 on: December 01, 2007, 02:00:55 AM
Sony Reader Digital Book PRS-505

The sleeker and more stylish second generation of the Sony Reader is a hardcover replacement, but its lack of wireless connectivity makes it an also-ran when compared with Amazon's Kindle. We have yet to see fellow commuters trading in their paperbacks for eBooks, but if that were to happen, they might reach for the Sony Reader Digital Book PRS-505 first. This second-generation Sony Reader has some notable improvements over the first Sony Reader, including its consolidated physical design and increased storage, but considering Amazon's Kindle offers more titles and wireless downloads over EV-DO, Sony's sleeker styling and $100-cheaper price are probably not enough to make its sequel a bestseller.Read Full Review | Compare Prices | View SpecsStay connected and informed with LAPTOP's new RSS News feeds.Covering all the latest industry news and mobile product updates you want to know about. Amazon Kindle

It's expensive, but fast over-the-air downloads and a huge selection of titles make Amazon's e-book reader the best option yet.   The Amazon Kindle isn't the most attractive electronic book, but it's definitely the most connected. One-upping Sony's new Reader PRS-505 the $399 Kindle costs $100 more, but it includes free integrated mobile broadband for buying books on the go, accessing Wikipedia, or having your subscription newspaper and magazines sent to you directly. The Kindle's stunning display, skinny body, convenient reading tools, and easy-to-use interface make it the best alternative to hardcovers yet. However, its unattractive design, unfriendly button placement, and lofty price will give some pause.Read Full Review | View SpecsStay connected and informed with LAPTOP's new RSS News feeds.Covering all the latest industry news and mobile product updates you want to know about. T-Mobile Sidekick LX

While it tries to present itself as more grown-up, this flip phone is still just for kids.Like an ambivalent college grad, T-Mobile's Sidekick LX suffers from a bit of an identity crisis. Seeking to attract 18- to 34-year-olds, the Sidekick LX offers a grownup design, e-mail integration, and long battery life, but some of its past foibles, including terrible reception and dog-slow data transfers, have proved tough to overcome on the road to respectability.Read Full Review | View SpecsStay connected and informed with LAPTOP's new RSS News feeds.Covering all the latest industry news and mobile product updates you want to know about.
