THE TECHNO CLUB [ TECHNOWORLDINC.COM ] / Techno Images / Amazing Duofone Cellphones

Heres a design concept by Daewoo Kim for a cellphone that might actually be practical in desperate situations, because when one phoneruns out of power, the other one can charge it up. And look at them, arent they cute, spooning on that charger together? Cellphone purveyors will probably like this design, because it may entice people to buy two products instead of one. Theres another unique idea built into this cellphone, too. Check out the picture above, where the phones are seen combining their screen real estate into one bigger screen, maybe a good idea for a couple to watch a movie on an airplane. With the phones internal electronics combining themselves, both husband and wife could don Bluetooth headsets and enjoy the movie together while proving to their fellow passengers that they are indeed joined at the hip. If you dont mind all that togetherness implied by such a design, this might not be a bad idea, but that curved cellphone form factor may not be too comfortable in the pocket.

THE TECHNO CLUB [ TECHNOWORLDINC.COM ] / Techno Images / Worlds Slimmest Slider Phone
|
on: March 14, 2009, 08:55:58 AM

The Samsung U600 isnt the slimmest slider any more, because this Pantech IM-S230 just out-skinnied it by a whole millimeter. Like a couple of supermodels battling to see who can be the first to be completely invisible when viewed from the side, this Pantech phone is just 9.9mm thick, besting the positively corpulent Samsung U600, which at 10.9mm thinks shes starting to look fat in those short shorts. Besides that unique thinness, the Pantech slider holds the same spec line of many other phones, with a 2.2-inch display, MP3 player and DMB TV tuner, as well as a 1.3-megapixel camera. Koreans, who may need to be careful not to cut themselves while this phone occupies their pockets, will be shelling out a $535 for the privilege of carrying it. Can these phones get any thinner ?

THE TECHNO CLUB [ TECHNOWORLDINC.COM ] / Techno Images / Amazing Korean SKY Concept Phone
|

Why are concepts so loved? Because they don't take profitability in consideration, they don't have to please anybody and they live by the love or hate saying. If you hate them you hate them big, but if you love them, you would die for them. Don't believe me? Think of Apple iPhone, who flamed the minds of millions and now everybody tries to catch some of the strong points of this paper launched product in their next phones. Let's not change the subject and talk about concepts. Today's big hit comes from Korean SKY, a concept dominated by minimalism, sleek & slim forms and, a must have nowadays, the touch-pad. Want some specs? C'mon, it's just a concept which might never see the light of day, or beauty of the night, but nonetheless it will make you dream sweeter tonight.

THE TECHNO CLUB [ TECHNOWORLDINC.COM ] / Techno Images / Cool S-Series Wooden Cellphone

We can see concept cell phones around the internet almost in a daily basis, mostly looking like something took directly from Star Trek. Actually, most of them seems to be just different parts of the Enterprise's control board placed in a handset. But some can still be noticed, like this one, the S-Series from the designer Simon Enever. It is a beautiful concept that uses noble wood and results in a stylish and elegant gadget. In the designer's own words: looking at a new direction in styling for mobile phones. looking at the market there is a distinct lack of “ultra stylish phones. the few there are lack best features like top quality camera, large screen etc. i tried to inject my style into a slightly more than standard slider phone. the main concept being no need to open the phone to use all the features, apart from typing text. main body made from wood, black acrylic wrap around facia, brushed aluminium/ steel features.

THE TECHNO CLUB [ TECHNOWORLDINC.COM ] / Techno Images / Ever Seen Wrist Phones ?

Dick Tracy was the very first one to use them; back in the 1940's when it reached the mainstream media, through the Chicago Tribune's pages. Since then, some companies presented prototypes of wrist phones, a couple of them even launched some models, but all of them were big, heavy things. Nothing you would like to walk around with. But the companies are still trying, here are some models, like the BenQ Siemens snake model, the LiteON bracelet, the Nec Tag and finally the coolest one IMHO, the Nokia Icon.
