Oregon will resume online testing of students next school year with a new contractor, American Institutes for Research. State school Superintendent Susan Castillo announced the five-year contract on Friday. American Institutes for Research, of Washington, D.C., will be paid $5 million the first year, including $2 million in startup costs, and $3 million annually afterward. Oregon stopped online testing in reading, math and science March 12, after periodic outages when students could not gain access to the online tests.
