Genesis Technical Systems unveils revolutionary new copper bonding range for superfast broadband

New mBond® Flex solutions dramatically enhance broadband speed and reach for customers
Coventry, UK - 30 July 2015 - Genesis Technical Systems ramps up its revolutionary mBond® with the first product in a new flexible portfolio designed to improve bandwidth and reach over the existing copper network while protecting investment in capital outlay of existing Digital Subscriber Line Access Multiplexers (DSLAMs). mBond Flex Enterprise is the first of a new family of mBond products that can be customised to meet the needs of the customer, providing them with a cost-effective solution to increase their bandwidth in remote locations, conservation buildings and other premises not serviced directly by fibre.
As the demand for faster broadband speeds and higher bandwidth continues to grow, service providers are looking for ways of updating their networks without the huge upfront costs of replacing their existing infrastructure with fibre. As a result there is a high demand for technologies that enhance the existing infrastructure, offering the high speeds and bandwidth that their customers need.
mBond Flex solutions, from Genesis Technical Systems, are a direct response to market demand. This new generation in the mBond family of products offers even more flexibility for a wide range of customers, from enterprises in business regeneration areas unable to receive fibre to the premise due to historical building restrictions, to remote utility providers such as wind farms.
Most copper bonding products are DSLAM specific and subsequently work with some DSLAMs and not with others. A key feature however of mBond Flex is its ability to work with any DSLAM. Thus allowing service providers to reuse their existing DSLAMs, where they have already made investments, subsequently reducing their network equipment costs.
In addition to supporting multiple DSLAM options, mBond Flex offers support for ADSL2+ (in addition to VDSL2) allowing service providers to increase their bandwidth over longer copper distances. While VDSL2 offers high throughput up to 1.5km, ADSL2+ can extend the reach up to 5km.
mBond Flex also enables service providers to install bonding through a single Exchange Gateway to multiple cabinets and multiple customer premises. With both cost sensitive and highly scalable versions of the Exchange Gateway under development, Genesis is set to provide even more flexibility to address specific deployment needs.
“Service providers are already extremely impressed with our mBond Complete products and the results we are achieving in real world trials with their customers. We wanted to offer more flexibility to suit the wide variety of environments that our customers operate in and this new generation of products enables that,” said Mark Stukins, Vice President Global Channel Sales at Genesis. “The feedback that we have received from our customers has been fantastic and we are sure that there will be many more announcements in the near future.”
