Post by: RealWire on March 02, 2015, 06:19:11 PM
Belfast based software company SpeechStorm celebrated its 5th year as an independent company on the 18th February with an event at the Culloden Estate & Spa in Holywood, Northern Ireland, attended by current and former SpeechStorm team members, Board of Directors, as well as a number of friends and distinguished guests including the Rt Hon, the Lord Mayor, Councillor Nichola Mallon.

The “A Night at the Oscars” themed gala was chosen in keeping with SpeechStorm’s practice of naming each of its software releases after a famous movie director, most recent of which have included Hitchcock, Jackson and Kubrick. The evening featured a red carpet welcome and an awards ceremony to recognise the special contributions of team members and others to the SpeechStorm story so far.

Proud of its Northern Ireland roots, SpeechStorm currently employs 27 people, 22 of whom are based at the company’s headquarters in Belfast. SpeechStorm’s unique Personalisation Platform enables companies with large contact centres to provide an improved customer experience for their customers on the phone, on mobile devices and on the web. Companies using platform include some of the best-known names in telecoms, retail and financial services in the UK, Continental Europe and North America, for which its software handles over 100 million customer calls every year.
The evening was declared open by the Rt Hon, the Lord Mayor, Councillor Nichola Mallon who spoke about how SpeechStorm was the perfect example of a company having individuals with the right mind-set and can-do attitude to penetrate the global market, and that setting up in Northern Ireland enabled the company to find the right infrastructure and employee pool to make this happen. The Lord Mayor expressed her confidence that the successes of the past five years were only the beginning for SpeechStorm.

SpeechStorm’s CEO Oliver Lennon thanked the Lord Mayor for her kind words and welcomed the attendees for the evening. He went on to talk about the challenges and successes the company met with along the way and how these experiences have strengthened the company.  “I am honoured to be leading this team of very talented individuals and to work with companies which, like us, are passionate about customer service. Like any great movie, we are fortunate to have the services of a fantastic cast, we have enjoyed together the thrills and excitement of a blockbuster script and there hasn’t been a dull moment! We have kept our audience interested in what we had to say and plan to do so in the coming years too. “

SpeechStorm’s most recent software release, named Kubrick after the director of masterpieces including Spartacus, The Shining and 2001: A Space Odyssey was released in January 2015. More information about SpeechStorm and the Kubrick release is available at speechstorm.com
