Virtusa Awarded Service Innovation of the Year by the IT Service Management Forum UK

London, UK – (November 27, 2014) – Virtusa Corporation (NASDAQ GS: VRTU), a global business consulting and IT outsourcing company that combines innovation, technology leadership and industry solutions to transform the customer experience, today announced that the IT Service Management Forum UK (ITSMF UK) has awarded it the Service Innovation of the Year award at its 2014 Industry Awards. The forum awarded the company this accolade for the Virtusa Test Automation Framework (VTAF), a robust testing solution for Quality Assurance and automation.
“It is an honour to be awarded the Service Innovation of the Year award by such a prestigious forum,” said Sameet Gupte, senior vice president and managing director, Europe at Virtusa. “Innovation is in the DNA of Virtusa and VTAF is a great example of innovation being unleashed to solve a perennial IT challenge for our clients. Having recognised that test automation is often plagued with the same challenges as software development, we created VTAF to improve the process for our clients. It is something we are very proud of – so for the ITSMF UK to recognise it is a great achievement.’
The Service Innovation of the Year award was presented to the organisation offering the most novel product or service offering that has been developed over the past year. Finalists were assessed on the level of ingenuity and inventiveness in their offering, and the originality of the solution. The Virtusa Test Automation Framework (VTAF) is a testing framework that can be used by non-technical QA engineers; it uses simple English to develop tool agnostic test scripts, increase test coverage and greatly accelerate test script development. The VTAF Auto 4GL tool automates the process of script generation and eliminates the technical and idiosyncratic element of developing test scripts.
“The quality of submissions for this award was very high. With three such strong finalists in Virtusa, Marval and HP, the decision to award Virtusa with the Service Innovation of the Year was not easy,” said Mike Owen, CEO of ITSMF UK. “The ITSM Industry Awards are the perfect showcase for such innovative solutions, and we wish all the finalists our congratulations for being nominated in this category.”
The ITSM Industry Awards offer a great opportunity to highlight the achievements of IT service management individuals and teams whose skills, commitment and imagination have marked them out for special recognition. The finalists were selected by a team of independent judges, with the winners announced at the Awards Dinner during Conference on the 10th November in London.
