Title: 123-reg tour to champion UK small businesses
Post by: RealWire on July 28, 2014, 08:02:09 PM
In July and August, 123-reg.uk, the UK's largest domain registrar, will embark on a tour around the UK with a camper van to highlight to businesses the importance of having a digital presence and to show them how they can make the most from being online.

The company will host four free events which will focus on helping small businesses to better understand the online world and provide business owners with the opportunity to gain valuable advice, find out information and pick the brains of a number of industry experts. As well as promoting the new shorter .uk domain name, the events will focus on essential core digital skills including online marketing, social media, networking tips and advice on increasing website conversions.

Nick Leech, Group Marketing Director at 123-reg's parent company, Host Europe Group, who will be speaking at all of the events said: "In 2014 it is more important than ever for a small business to have an online presence. We do appreciate that sometimes there can be somewhat of an information overkill which can scare potential business owners away. That is why we are bringing our industry experts to businesses, giving them the opportunity to learn new skills and gain first-hand knowledge of both the challenges and opportunities available online.

"The recently launched .uk domain name will play an important role in this. It will provide greater opportunities for small businesses who want their own online space, which in turn will help to build greater trust in the overall UK economy and help harness a growing digital age."

The events will see 123-reg travel the United Kingdom in a .uk themed camper van. The events will be held at Newcastle Racecourse (29 July), Leeds Carriageworks Theatre (30 July), Cardiff's St David's Hotel (6 August), finishing in Canary Wharf, London (12 August).

"Research shows us that 25 per cent of small businesses are still not online. Our aim is to address this by continuing to help businesses to demystify the online world by providing help and guidance from a broad range of experts," he concluded.
