Title: Across LSP Day with Participants from 16 Countries
Post by: NeonDrum on July 15, 2014, 03:38:18 PM
Karlsbad, Germany, 15th July 2014 – On June 24, Across Systems GmbH held its yearly LSP Day. More than 80 participants from 16 countries attended the first international Across user conference for translation companies. At the conference, specialized lectures mainly conveyed practical knowledge in connection with the use of the translation management system. A special highlight was the presentation of Across Language Server version 6 with its new functions and extensions.

To give international language service providers the opportunity to participate in the conference, this year's lectures were all held in English. After a keynote speech by Gabriele Vollmar, Chairwoman of the German Society for Knowledge Management (GfWM), the new features of the recently released Across version 6 were presented. With its fundamental changes in terms of functionality, performance optimization, and redesign, v6 is an important milestone for Across. The product presentation was followed by further lectures on topics such as the process assistance provided by Across, support as the basis for a good partnership, and a discussion on quality management in the translation process. Alexandros Zekakis of nlg GmbH delivered an interesting case report entitled "From Single Cell to Ecosystem: The Evolution of Across at nlg".

The audience greatly appreciated the colorful program and the opportunity to meet members of the Across team and other participants. "The first international Across LSP conference was a very interesting and productive event I would strongly suggest to anyone interested in learning more about Across. The number of participants, representing 16 different countries allowed also for successful networking, discussions, and knowledge transfer. Across representatives came well prepared with LSP-oriented topics, ranging from technical information and new feature presentations up to consulting. Overall a well-organized event, which we will definitely attend again in the future", says Alexandros Zekakis, Director, Production & Strategic Solutions at nlg GmbH.
