Luxembourg, 9 October 2012 – On October 2, 2012, P&T Luxembourg and its subsidiary ebrc, specialised in Data Centres, cloud computing and IT Managed Services, inaugurated the European Reliance Centre Luxembourg East in Betzdorf. The ceremony was attended by the Minister of Economy and Foreign Trade, Mr Etienne Schneider, the Minister of Communications and Media, Mr François Biltgen, and many figures from the political and economic world, customers and operational teams.

The fifth Data Centre, which admitted its first customers in March 2012, is the result of more than twelve years' experience in the field of high technology. Financed by P&T and managed by ebrc, the European Reliance Centre Luxembourg East has 5000 m² of computing space with an availability rating of 99.995%, Tier IV. Its design makes it particularly environmentally friendly, in that it can draw up to 90% of its cooling needs from the outside air.

Acknowledged by national and international, ebrc has committed itself to sustainability in its corporate values, known as 'E.A.R.T.H.', and is reducing the environmental impacts of its customers, partly by optimising the Data Centres' energy consumption.

A pioneer in resilient infrastructure, since January 2011, P&T and ebrc have remained the only players on the world stage with two Tier IV-certified Data Centres. This is the highest technically achievable level of availability. These five interconnected Data Centres offer a total computing space of nearly 17,000 m², 90% of which is at Tier IV level.

Using this exceptional infrastructure, P&T, ebrc and other subsidiaries of P&T Group further extended their new high added value services for the whole chain of sensitive information management, aimed at both local and international businesses.

P&T and ebrc once more confirm their leading position, contributing to making Luxembourg a uniquely attractive place for international stakeholders in the digital economy.

Claude Strasser, CEO of P&T: “The location of Betzdorf is probably unique in Europe with this Tier IV Data Center, the presence of the global satellite operator SES and our European high-speed data-network Teralink. Betzdorf is a highly interesting location to attract multimedia companies and we are proud to contribute thus to the ‘Hub Multimedia Luxembourg’ ".

Yves Reding, CEO of ebrc: “The European Reliance Center is one of the visible parts of our service offer based on quality and long-term, sustainable development. It also reflects the invisible part composed of a whole set of innovative services, advanced skills and a knowhow which will allow us to built a ‘ICT Trusted Center’ in Europe with a very high added-value”.

Distinguished by quality and trust, ebrc's strategy is backed up by the certification policy of its 135 staff, its infrastructures, its organisation and its processes. ISO 20000 (IT service management), ISO 27001 (data security) and Payment Card Industry-Data Security Standard (PCI-DSS).

The range of services offered by ebrc and other subsidiaries of P&T Group are completely integrated. The ebrc offer covers five strategic areas end-to-end: Trusted Data Centres Services, Trusted Cloud Europe Services, Trusted Managed Services, Trusted Resilience Services and Trusted Advisory Services. As the shareholder, P&TLuxembourg helps to secure long-term commitment to the company.
