Hamburg, Germany, April 18, 2012 – In its latest product group test, testers at US-based SC Magazine gave the gateProtect GPZ 2500 top marks and designated it as their ‘Recommended’ product. The next-generation UTM firewall scored the highest rating of five out of five stars in every category - features, ease of use, performance, documentation, support, and value for money.

SC Magazine was particularly impressed with the GPZ 2500’s flexibility and ease of configuration, highlighting how simple it was to configure, even in complex environments. The testers said that users can quickly become familiar with the management console and assign policies to components like user or network groups by drag and drop. SC Magazine’s conclusion was very positive, with testers making it their “Recommended” product as well as giving it top marks in all categories. It described the GPZ 2500 as “quite possibly the be-all and end-all of perimeter network security” and in terms of any negative points there were “none that we found”.

“The gateProtect GPZ 2500 also impressed testers during the product tests in previous years,” comments Dr. Peter Smeets, CEO of gateProtect. “At that time, they praised aspects like the feature set, performance and ease of use. We’re very happy that SC Magazine has highlighted the advantages of the eGUI graphical user interface this time and made it a recommended product. We see this as a confirmation of our approach, which combines powerful, state-of-the-art functionality with an easy-to-use console and enables us to provide companies with a compelling product for their networks’ security.”
