Like all the other passengers, I was waiting in the bus. I was heading to the north after spending a few days there.
After about ten minutes, the bus driver has still not emerged. Some guys at the back started to complain and a man, in his fifties, started to yell and shouted, “Where is the hell of that damned driver? What are we waiting for?”
A lady in the front, which I guess is a frequent user of the bus line, answered him, “Please be patient, the driver is having his tea. There is still another five minutes before the real departure time.”
The guy yelled back, “The bus is already full and it ought to be moving… Now!”
He was really angry. I could hear vulgar languages being spoken. He even kicked the seat in the front, and, making the little girl at the front cried.
Witnessing this, I began to ask myself, “Does it necessary to be angry? To be at the emotional threshold?”
And the ultimate question, “Does it help?”
Even if he yelled or slammed the bus, it still would not move. The bus only moves when the clock strikes at the right time. Nothing ever changes by being cruel. So why would he wanted to be in the angry state? By the way, he already knew the departure time when he bought the ticket.
As soon as the five minutes passed, the driver got into his seat and the bus started the journey. I could hardly hear any complaints then.
“Doesn’t it silly to be angry at the first place, where nobody has done anything wrong?”
Besides, the bus moves according to the schedule; everything has been planned. It is of no use by trying to change anything that’s beyond our control.
The same goes with our lives. Have you been into angry state when things did not come out as what you have expected for? Did you blame this and that when circumstances were not at your sides?
Like the bus scenario, everything has been pre-planned. Even if you angry, even if you slam the door, things will not change. They will not change to compensate your needs; they are scheduled to happen according to the plan. In fact, you have chosen the plan, you just do not realize it and most importantly, favorable thing could not ever happen during the hard time.
The only thing that you can do is to be patient and let the hard time passes peacefully, with no strains and struggles.
Go with the flow, not against it.
