Online PR Tools: Keys for a Successful Publicity
« Posted: July 29, 2007, 12:12:53 PM »

In my commentary article on utilizing the Internet for free PR tools, I have discussed several points by which online Public Relations should take a good advantage over the free and wide accessibility of the Internet. In this article, I will point out several sites and some additional information regarding PR tools online.

With regards to the previous article, I already discussed some PR tools found online and these include, online press releases, online radio shows, consistency on own PR web, and writing own articles for online publishing.

Online press releases, as I have mentioned before, is one way of putting more publicity in business without having to spend a dime. Aside from sending press releases to writers who writes the same pitch as your story, press releases may also be sent through various existing press release sites. Some of these sites are offered for free, while others charge a posting. But do not worry of the cost of the sites that charge, often, the charge is less than you imagined. I would like to suggest some sites that are very user-friendly: prweb.com, pressbox.co.uk, bacons.com, enewsrelease.com, and webwire.com.

Publishing one’s articles online is also another great way of getting publicity. I have mentioned this before and I have found out that there are also several websites that cater to these articles, especially featured articles. You could try sending your articles on the following email addresses, or better yet you could visit these sites and send the articles there:

[email protected]
[email protected]
[email protected]
[email protected]

For more list of these kinds of sites, just type-in article submission to any kind of search engine and you will get lots of results. You could also prefer to include a bio/contract/resource box at the end of your article. This is completely free and it may bring you more response compared to paid advertisements. Just remember to include contact information on your business and background information.

In addition, gaining publicity for your business may be done by simply joining newsgroups. These newsgroups allow direct connection with other people who have the same interests as yours. Through monitoring and joining informal discussions, you may become an established expert in your field. Just some reminders on postings to these newsgroups:

1. Avoid being a blatant salesman when posting to newsgroups. Remember that people in newsgroups look for pieces of advice from an expert. Become one by lightening the sales talk load and discussing “essence”.

2. Speak with value. This will make a desire image and eventually gain some respect from people.

3. Make sure to include your contacts in your email signature. The information includes the name of your business as well as the link in your website.

4. Become a regular visitor to newsgroups as exposure is the key factor to getting recognized and known.
