Telehouse Vietnam data center evolves as a cloud provider
« Posted: July 10, 2012, 09:51:43 PM »

- Telehouse Vietnam’s VPS strengthen global cloud portfolio -

10 July 2012 - London: Telehouse, the leading provider of global data centres and managed ICT services, is expanding its Cloud portfolio into the overseas markets with the news that Telehouse Vietnam, Vietnam’s leading provider of carrier-neutral data centres, is launching a Cloud Virtual Private Server (VPS) service, demonstrating the company’s drive to meet the increasingly diverse and evolving needs of its customers.

The investment into Telehouse Vietnam highlights the progression and growth of ICT across Asia. A report from consulting firm, BroadGroup revealed that in response to government e-initiatives and investment into ICT, the market for data centres in Vietnam has grown by almost 60 per cent in the last two years. Coupled with overseas investment, forecasters suggest that data centres will account for around 20 per cent of Vietnam’s IT revenues by 2013.

As a result of this Telehouse are building on the success of Telecloud, Telehouse and KDDI’s (telecom and ICT parent) portfolio of enterprise Cloud solutions deployed within its Telehouse London site, by launching a VPS service, which will reside in Telehouse Vietnam. The Cloud VPS service will provide customers with a cost-effective, scalable and highly secure outlay for data storage and management.

Customers will be able to benefit from access to a dedicated, separate virtual server, which can be edited and configured to the end-users desired requirements, with the ability to host a range of applications, all at significant cost savings.

The move represents Telehouse’s continued investment into data centre services by providing customers with the optimum IT environment.

Hiroshi Kobayashi, MD of Telehouse and KDDI Europe, commented: “Despite the current uncertainty around the economic climate, Vietnam has experienced real growth in its ICT sector particularly with the introduction and adoption of Cloud computing. According to research house Gartner, the Cloud sector is growing at a rate of 17 per cent year-on-year, amounting to $2.4bn USD, with projections suggesting it will hit $8.1bn USD by 2013. Asia, and particularly Vietnam, represents huge potential for growth with experts stating the market could increase in size by four times its current amount by 2015, with 2012 on course to see a 50 per cent growth rate of cloud adoption.”

Kobayashi continued: “The move to capitalise on this represents Telehouse’s understanding of the data centre evolution and our confidence in being able to provide customers with a mission critical, scalable platform ensuring uptime reliability, low latency and data integrity, all incorporated under the secure global Telehouse and KDDI umbrella.”
