Leeds, 25 July 2012: The Yorkshire County Cricket Club is delighted to announce a three year partnership with managed communications provider, Kcom, part of the KCOM Group.

Under the agreement, Kcom will become the cricket club’s media partner and the sponsor of the Yorkshire Cricket Foundation’s “Cricket in the Classroom” programme.

The Kcom Media Centre, which plays host to all the major broadcast channels during the cricket season, forms an impressive part of the Carnegie Pavilion at the club’s Headingly Ground.

The Yorkshire Cricket Foundation, a registered Charity, ensure that maximum funding is available for cricket based charitable programmes and initiatives. Its Cricket in the Classroom has provided a stimulating learning environment for over 24,000 young people over the last 7 years and is based on innovative lessons which extend the experience and fun of the game into a classroom environment.

Paul Simpson, Executive Director for Kcom said “The Yorkshire Cricket Club, and the work of its Foundation, is a perfect fit for Kcom. As an organisation with a large presence in Yorkshire, in terms of both customers and employees, it’s great for us to get involved with such a prestigious local club. We look forward to working with the teams here to build a strong long term partnership which will benefit us, the club and the wider community.”

Andy Dawson, Commercial Director for Yorkshire County Cricket Club said “We are delighted to announce that Kcom has agreed to become our official media partner for the next three years. Kcom is a huge reputable brand that shares the same values in customer service as ourselves and we are very proud that they will be joining our elite band of existing commercial partners.”

Will Saville, the Community Development Manager of the Yorkshire Cricket Foundation said: “We are extremely pleased that Kcom have come on board as a sponsor of our flagship programme ‘Cricket in the Classroom.’  We engage with over 4000 school children every year across Yorkshire, so it’s great that through Kcom’s sponsorship, we will be able to continue to run the scheme and develop it further.”
