Position: Analyst/Sr. Analyst Analytical Services
The Analytical Services department is comprised of world-class PhDs and analysts from a variety of disciplines such as statistics, econometrics and math. We are problem solvers on the cutting edge of technology, using advanced modeling and optimization techniques from Bayesian forecasting to non-linear curve fittings. Our solutions run on a robust data analysis platform, employing algorithms to accurately configure complex demand models of retail merchandise behavior.
The position is for our analytical services group for oracle retail is based at Retail Center of Excellence, Bangalore in.
Analyst: Responsibilities
To take significant responsibility in the Analytical Services group from day one. Analyst works with team members and coordinates with other analysts and scientists through the entire project/implementation lifecycle.
The position requires an entrepreneurial and self-starting attitude, as responsibilities range from heading internal projects that help drive company growth to acting as a primary contact for customers.
The Analyst is required to have a strong analytical background, as he/she will be working closely with quantitative-oriented PhDs to create and present client deliverables.
The Analyst should be a very detailed oriented and hands on person in handling projects and who can work closely with team members in highly productive team environment.
Communication with C-level Retail Executives / US counterparts occurs frequently to learn about their business and share analytical findings.
Qualifications:
Candidate should have completed a masters program in quantitative discipline such as economics, econometrics, operations research, mathematics, statistics, management science or bachelors program in engineering/technology with substancial courses in quantitiave subjects.
Consistantly outstanding acdemic record from top tier institutes.
2-3 years of experience preferably in data mining/data analysis involving large amount of transactional databases in demand forecasting, revenue optimization preferably in retail, airlines, and supply-chain domains.
Excellent written and verbal communications skills as Analysts are expected to create and deliver concise, logical presentations and must be able to handle client contact.
Computer literate and proficient with relational database and spreadsheets. Knowledge of SQL and Visual Basic is desirable.
Experience with statistical software (SAS, Splus/R or Statistica) and large quantitative datasets is a plus.
The ability to take on significant responsibility quickly is a must for this position.
