The funny thing about running and coordinating an Online Think Tank is that the subject matter never stops. Recently, in a late-night online conversation, a gentleman mentioned Tesla and some other interesting topics having to do with electro-magnetic energy; some pretty fun ideas for making collecting energy and using it for various things. Always looking for a way to capture energy and propel some sort of gizmo.
During this conversation it had occurred to me that after reading all about Tesla's work, that Tesla without the help of JP Morgan and others he would not have had the money needed to complete his project. If you consider how Westinghouse and General Electric had taken some of the great entrepreneurial work of the day and moved thing forward you would agree.
In other words brilliance and the creative genius needs resources and funding, without it, comes emotional baggage and scars of never completing the inventors projects, as I hear similar stories about garage inventors without the money needed to get to the next step often enough?
In fact in reading the Tesla book written by his nephew, my family name as one of the lawyers negotiating one of the larger contracts was mentioned. Inventors will always need funding and civilization will always need inventors. If an entrepreneur can produce something for the general population or for a specific niche, then everyone wins.
So, inventors, innovators, scientists and capitalists should all be on a first name basis in my humble opinion. I certainly hope this article is of interest and that is has propelled thought. The goal is simple; to help you in your quest to be the best in 2007. I thank you for reading my many articles on diverse subjects, which interest you.
